When is the general cut off month for ordering a gown? I've heard different things from different bridal salons.
I've been to about 7 places and still haven't found my dress :(

I was told 6-8 months. I put a deposit down on my dress in February and it came in just about 6 months later. I think it also depends on what store you order from.
Since you're in August, I would think the latest you'd want to order it is December. This will give it time to come in and so you have your fittings.
Your wedding is 2 days after mine :)

Can be anywhere from 4-8 months, it depends on the designer. I just ordered mine, most places was giving me by October 31 to be safe. Don't worry you will find the one! Worst case you can but it on a rush order...but don't get too close to your date.

my dress salon said 8 months but can come sooner...when you find the right one you will know..but dont wait too long! you dont want to be limited to dresses that can come in quickly

Ordered mine last weekend for a May wedding. After I told her that I've read the suggested ordering is usually 8 months before, the bridal consultant said it should arrive in plenty of time, that it doesn't take anywhere near as long as 8 months.

I think that the 6 month rule is good.
I ordered my dress in May and it just came in last week so that took about 5 months.
Edit: BTW the bridal salons may tell you to leave more time in order to make the sale sooner and get your money

Honestly I think they vary depending on when you order but my dress came in in June 6 months after I ordered it. knowing they had a year and three months time to order it.

It also depends on the designer of the dress. Bridal reflections told me that eve of milady needs a year....so if you are interested in a specific designer you should def ask.

You still have time. I think a lot of the times they tell you its 10 months or 8 months just to be safe but in reality they can probably get it in 3 months if they have to, depending on the designer. However, if you want to be safe I would definately order your dress by the end of November

i wasnt expecting mine to come so quick i got it from davids bridal and it came in in 3 weeks!!! and they dont hold it!!so its been sitting in my friends closet so i dont wear it everyday
