Confused About Where to Register?

Hi Ladies! An '08 er here who needs some of your expert advice:

I am unsure of where to register. My FH wants to register at Crate and Barrel....and Im not sure if I want to do Fortunoff's or BBB....We are picking two stores for sure. Any positive/neg's for any of those stores? I'd appreciate any feedback!

Thanks In Advance,
Amanda :)

Re: Confused About Where to Register?

We registered at Bloomies, Fortunoff and BB&B.

Most of our gifts came from BB&B. Bloomies had our china, so we got some from there. Hardly any from Fortunoff, except our luggage.

The coupons for BB&B are a huge plus for the guests, IMHO.

Im not too sure about those two stores but I can tell you Linens and things was great and gave coupons for everyone to stick in the shower invite and macys is great- i earned 400.00 that i will be getting soon to use on any piurchase through my registry. I get 5% back i think so it really worked out nicely...

we did Crate & Barrel and Fortunoff's. I think both do a 10% completion discount. And Fortunoffs you also get 5% back after the wedding if you sign up for their credit card for all the purchases guests make off the registry. We are due to get our certificate soon

I have to say we got equal amounts of stuff from both registries.....C&B has such fun stuff and great prices

I loved both Fortunoff and BBB

I did mine at Macy's and BBB. BBB's nice b/c they have the 20% coupon. Most of my guests ended up getting us gifts from BBB. We originally registered at Crate & Barrel b/c I love that store but we started to feel that the selections were a bit limited. Fortunoff's really nice! My friend registered there but she had very few things bought from there. More guests went w/ BBB instead. Good luck in choosing!

We registered at BBB and Target. These two places had the functional basics that we registered for (new pans, a vaccuum etc.) and I couldnt find a dept store that carried all the extras/decorations in styles that we dig (we're fussy.)

I couldnt recommend Target... we did everything online but I had some craptastic issues when trying to purchase something off my own registry after the wedding. BB&B was just fine and the coupons are a nice bonus for your guests

We did BBB, Crate & Barrel and Macys. All of them were pretty good. I fif move most of the stuff off of my Macys registry and moved it to BBB because I found that BBB had better pricing. Also, BBB keeps your registry open for 2 years after your wedding, so you have more time to complete your registry.

YES! BB&B, hands down, the best place to register.

We did BBB and Macys. BBB is great because of the 20% off coupons and Macys is awesome because if you link your Macys credit card to the registry you earn money back on all your purchases and whatever is bought from your registry in the form of a Macys gift card which comes in handy.

I heard that crate and barrel turn over their items quickly in store so its hard to register because things get discontinued quickly. Also, if something breaks and you want to replace it might not exists anymore...

I registered at Macys & BBB. I'd recommend BBB the most. The pricing and selection are better and the return policy is awesome. Macys was good too, but they don't seem to keep much in stock, so everything has to be ordered and then your guests have to pay shipping. They also emailed me the morning of my shower to tell me that one of my gifts was going to be mailed to me. Helped ruin the surprise.

We did fortunoff, BBB and Crate and Barrel. All were good. BBB is awesome because of the coupons and you get cash back if you have to return anything there. We registered for a lot of the same things at fortunoff and BBB and when we got doubles I returned it to BBB to get the cash. Foutunoff is great because you get the 5% back I should be getting that in Janurary. we still need stuff for the house so that will really come in handy!

We did Fortunoff's, BB&B and Pottery Barn... all were great... we rec'd $200 gift certficate from Fortunoff's since we siigned up for the credit card. You should just register at all three places and spread stuff out.. people will go where they want.. and you may even get more variety of gift cards that way. Registering is fun!

I completely agree. BBB not only has awesome prices and coupons, but if you do a return off of your registry, they give you CASH back!

I originally registered at Macy's as well, but they were an absolute nightmare. I am from Manhattan, and to say that the Herald Square store s^cks is a severe understatement. The employees are sooo unhelpful and mean! What really got to me was how most of the items on my registry were listed as 'will ship in 8-10 weeks' or '12-14 weeks' for BASIC stuff! Who wants to buy a gift for someone and have it arrive 3 MONTHS later??? Plus their gift return policy stinks too - they give you the lowest selling price, regardless of what was paid. So the moral of my very long story is, no macy's, YES BBB!

I registered at Bed, Bath & Beyond and Fortunoff. Both were great, but I got most of my gifts from Bed, Bath & Beyond. they always have those 20% coupons which are great for those buying off your registry and if you want to return something, they give you cash back.

We registered at Macy's, Williams Sonoma, and Target. Macy's was great for the multitude of locations all over the country and their Registry Star Rewards program. Target was great for kitchen things and again b/c they are everywhere. Williams Sonoma (where we got the nice and not commonly found kitchen stuff and our glassware) has been great too.

We registered at LNT, BBB, Bloomingdales, Macys and Crate and Barrel. My LNT, BBB and Macys registries were all completely wiped out.

As for C&B, my opinion is that it depends on who your guests are going to be. Since there is only one location on LI, and most of my guests live in Suffolk, I really didn't get much from there. What i did get was from people who either live in the city or out of state where C&B is more accessible.

Re: Confused About Where to Register?

Initially, we registered at Crate and Barrel but then nixed the registry due to the limited locations. Instead, we went with Bloomies and BBB. Registering with BBB was a pain in the as#, but worth the headache in the end. Our registry at BBB required 3 updates due to all items being purchased. I just added more items as the holidays are here! Our Bloomies registry still has items on it. I would highly HIGHLY recommend BBB due to there many locations, many people go there anyway, and the never expiring 20% coupons and competitors coupons a. Lastly, a HUGE bonus is being able to return items on your registry and getting cash back!!!!!!! HTH
