Confused and tired of doing research on our honeymoon

We want an all inclusive HM. Something romantic and beautiful. I have thought of The Royal Hideaway in Mexico, He doesn't mind where we go. He thought of Aruba, I don't mind going there either, except I don't want to worry about him wanting to gamble on our honeymoon at the casino's.

We want to stay below 5k for a little over a week.

Girls, do you have suggestions for me? Thanks!

Re: Confused and tired of doing research on our honeymoon

WELL...since I saw that we have the same wedding date...I'll tell you to go to Aruba.

The weather is to die for, plenty of good restaurants...sightseeing, water activities.
DH and I even went to a casino since we've never been.....your FH wont want to go into them because they are very small and I've heard that since they arent regulated by a gaming comission, such as in the US...the house always wins!!! ***** but true - maybe that will keep him out of the casinos and go on romantic walks on the beach with his new wife!!!

Hey date twin! I agree with you on the gaming commission thing, but unfortunaltey FH plays poker and I think b/c you are playing against other people, that rule does not apply.. so this is why I am skeptic about going there with him.. I know how he is and I don't want him to want to sit down and play poker for a few hours on our HM. I would love to go there though.. I may have to talk it over with him some more.

Where did you stay in Aruba?

Re: Confused and tired of doing research on our honeymoon

I recommend the Bahamas Sandals resort. I've been working with Leslie at Travel Solutions - a vendor on LIW and she has been amazing. FM me if you want her contact information.

FH and I are staying at the Sandals resort for 6 nights, 7 days for under $5k next March (busy season), but if you go before the tourist season begins, you'll get better rates. They offer all-inclusive (all drinks & food), hotel transfers to and from airports, non-motorized sports (snorkeling, kayaking, etc). There is dolphin swimming near by, along with Atlantis that is where the casino is (but you have to pay the $5/10 to take the taxi there). Additionally, this resort has a red eye spa that is ranked high in all tourist books, and it's own private island for Sandals guests only. It's a 1/2 mile off the resort beach and they offer boat rides over, or you can swim over or kayak over, etc and there is a pool, restaurant, private beaches, etc all for your own use.

Michelle, who just got married Friday, is going there herself for her HM tomorrow.

If you want anything more, feel free to FM me!!

We are also thinking the royal hideaway. It looks like a great place. Sandals is nice but the hideaway is less expensive and I think a little nicer.

Re: Confused and tired of doing research on our honeymoon

There are lots of great AIs in Jamaica & Mexico. But I'd go with Aruba since it will be hurricane season, IMO. Occidental just renovated a property -- Occidental Grand Aruba. It' s supposed to be beautiful. That's AI.
