Congrats to me! I just recently got engaged Thursday night!!!! I am going to pick up my ring tonight it had to be sized!
I recently live in New Jersey but moved from Long Island in May for job reasons. However, I will be getting married on Long Island!
Now here's my dilema, my fiance ( I love calling him that) wants to do something totally different than the normal reception idea, but I do. Does anyone have any ideas for me?? HELP

I was thinking traditional but he doesnt want that. Thank you for these ideas though they are really helpful. I was thinking maybe get married on a vineyard, thats one idea......

Brooklyn Botanical Gardens is something different, we looked into it and it looked really nice!
just saw this and had to post...i looked at the bklyn botanical garden. beautiful outside, but the guy we met with (tom?) had the worst attitude out of anyone at any BM we met with (11 so far). maybe we caught him on a bad day, but i have a huge problem with people catching attitudes when they are asking for 175 a head!

We talked about this last night. Since the holidays are here we want to wait till after New Years to start planning anything but till then Im gonna think up some ideas, We want to just enjoy the engagement for a little...
But Im kinda liking the Vineyard idea or maybe a museum, these are going to go on my list of ideas!
