Connetquot school district

Connetquot school district

I spoke with a real estate agent about a house for sale in Ronkonkoma in the connetquot SD. He informed me that if I wanted to buy in Ronkonkoma then it should be the sachem SD b/c Connetquot wasn't a very good district. I've never heard anything about Con. SD so I was kinda surprised he said this. Any ideas or experiences with this district? Thanks for the help!

We're in Connetquot SD and it always rates high in the test scores - sometimes higher than Sayville which is supposed to be an excellent SD. I think Sachem is also very good so this agent may think it's preferable, but I've never heard that Connetquot is bad - in fact that's one of the reasons we had trouble getting our buyers to close and get out of the house - she wanted to find a place in the area so her son could stay in the same SD.

Did you try a search here? I think within the last year there was a discussion about this same district and a lot of replies from people that had kids in the schools.

Conn. is a great school district....DH graduated from it! Sachem is VERY large....

never heard anything bad about Connetquot. I graduated from there and thought it was a good school, never had any problems, mostly middle class kids. Sachem is HUGE. HS was quite a few years ago so I dont know how the district has changed. GOOD LUCK.

Connetquot is a great school discrict. I graduated from there in 95 and my nephew in 2000. I would question your agent you are using.

I thought it was a good district also so I was very surprised that he said this. Needless to say I have some reservations about using him. I'll have to contact someone else. Thanks for the tips everyone! And if anyone knows a good real estate agent I'd appreciate that too!

Conntetquot is definitely a good district and I definitely wouldn't say it's 'better' than Sachem. Also, just so you know, it's illegal for realtors to disclose that information to you.

I graduated from Connetquot in 93'. I thought it was a great district. Very into sports, very high test scores. It's not much of a mixed, its pretty much an almost all white mostly middle/upper class school...middle class being Ronkonkoma and bohemia and a lot of upper class in oakdale. I cant tell you how many people in my graduating class lived in $5 million dollar oakdale houses...BUT I think it was great...other then getting over the fact that me( the poor one) had to have oakdale friends who had money...lol

I actualy do think the school could have been more diversified in a way.

The difference between them and Sachem is Size, Sachem is 3x the size.

Yes it is and Im very surprised that ANY realtor would disclose info like that. They are only allowed to tell you what school district the house is in....not the condition of it!!
