considering....

considering....

not doing a video...and only doing minimal professional photographs. My FH's BM is a picture-a-holic and took over a thousand pics at my FSIL's wedding last year. We also want to do the whole camera on each table thing to get a good collection of what the guests were seeing... We really just want the professional for our ceremony, some pictures, and our first dance.... Any thoughts????

I mean, its ok if it is what you want chica.
I am sure yuo will def. save $ by doing that...

Videos are different than Photos...
A photo its a 1000words...
But in video, you get to SEE everything that happened...
That is why I want both, Pics & Vids...

ETA: U also have to keep in mind, maybe ur guestt dont want to talk pics as they are Enjoying ur wedding... making them take pics is like 'puttin them to work' and maybe they just want to enjoy the whole event...

I don't think video is totally necessary, we aren't doing it. We just don't want it. But you can get some really great photogs for not too much. I just think that on the day, your friend will be part of the bridal party and will be IN some of your pics, and if you get an outside photog, he can just enjoy the day! But if you truly love his photos and he is willing to do it, then definitely go for it!

I cant even imagine this , im sorry. I would rather have no food or flowers.

They are the only part of your wedding that will last a lifetime.
I am sure you will regret this at one point in the future. I would skip out on every other thing if it was a budget issue..

Please reconsider !!

Is this friend a photographer? Does he have a decent camera?

This wouldnt be my #1 idea but photogs were one of my MOST important vendors.

You can find some really great photog deals - even people on Craigslist will do it for free if they are just starting out.

Your BM is there for the groom - to help him out and be a part of your day. Even if he really doesnt mind doing it, i wouldnt feel right giving one of our bridal party members a 'job' BUUT its whatever you feel comfortable doing.

Research is some more and see what kinda deals you can get before making a decision.

Re: considering....

i was thinking of leaving the vid out too but every bride i know is like get the video. trust me. you'll see things on there no photog can capture.

plus i hate bringing up my 1st wedding, but honestly there's entire sections of the wedding the photogs didnt catch but the videographer did,

and..cameras on the tables are great but non one uses them. you're better off asking people to upload their pics to a site you set up. trust m. dont waste your money on cameras.

and also..almost all my pics from the table cameras were of the floor, people's butts, nothing i could use. complete waste of $.

Re: considering....

We really don't want the video... We're never going to watch it... The photos though, those are a different story. I did the camera thing at both my sweet 16 & my grandparent's wedding anniversary @ Bridgeview & the pics were AWESOME. The guests had a blast with them, taking candids and things that I would NEVER have seen.... I def want professional ones for the ceremony, fancy ones of the BP, and families, the first dance for SURE.... For the rest of the night though, I'm not sure.... hmmmmm

Wow...
Totally different from most of the brides...

But if this is what u want, Go for it chica.

I know we WILL WATCH the Wedding Video as well as all of the photos!

I dont want to put any pressure on the wedding guest to take pics since I want them to enjoy.

I think the whole process is SO important for me to have it, as well as it is for FH...

BTW: I am sure Someone elses wedding and ur Sweet 16 is NOT the same as YOUR WEDDING....

We didn't book video. We are buying a new mini camcorder and giving it to my responsible cousin who doesn't drink to capture vows, cake, etc.

Re: considering....

I guess it's just so different for us.... We've been living together for 2 years, it'll be 3 by the time of the wedding. We're not doing a church wedding, so that's not as big of a deal for us. It's just us making it official (and so that we can start a family, I would NOT want to start having kids before marriage, odd since we are so non-traditional). And an excuse to get the friends and family together for a huge party. We might change our minds...it's just one of those things we've talked about a number of times over the last year or so....

Re: considering....

I would get video even if it is just the raw footage.

As for photographer by your BM I agree that you do not want to ask a BP memeber to 'work' at your wedding
