Considering the Hamlet Willow Creek

Considering the Hamlet Willow Creek

My FI and I went to look at a ton of halls on LI, and loved the Hamlet Willow Creek. My only concern is the size. The Saturday night minimum is 175, but it looks like it could be cramped with that many people. Does anyone have any feedback on the HWC? We're in the 175-200 guest range.

Hi, welcome to LIW!!

I've never been there so I can't help much. Try using the Search function and you should be able to find some reviews from past brides.

Thanks! I've done a few searches already, and have seen many positive reviews on the food and the way the reception is handled. However, I haven't seen any comments on the size of the hall, so I was hoping to get some additional feedback on that.

I am getting married at HWC this August... haven't ever been to a wedding there. Yet.

We've heard good things, too and Barbara
(catering manager) is really nice, and very helpful.

We're going to have about 130 adults/ 20 or so teenagers. I think the space will be fine (even for 175. I think the allowable max is 235, so 175 should be do-able. The room is bigger than it first seems...and especially if the weather is good since you also have that beautiful terrace. )

I'll give you an update once it happens, sorry I've got nothing more helpful just yet!

Anybody out there who can give us more info?

Hi girls! do a search on hamlet willow creek (or HWC) and you will find more stuff than you will ever have time to read!

Also search in the brides' review section.

Good luck!

One of my coworkers got married there last summer. Her wedding was 177 and it was not at all cramped. That's a huge room. Plus people go out on the terrace to smoke or whatever if it's nice.

Thank you for all of the replies! We're pretty much set on the HWC, especially now with everyone's postive feedback.

I think that the size of the room is fine - even for 200 people. I don't think it will be cramped at all.....great choice!

I am going there tomorrow to see the place and that was my concern as well. I hear that the cocktail hour is in the Lobby? But from what I see on the website the lobby looks beautiful.I'll FM you.

Weather permitting, we are having our CH outside on the back patio.

We're going to have about 160 there and I'm worried that it will look empty. I think 200 would fit easily in the ballroom. good luck!

I went to a wedding here a couple weeks ago they had about 150 people, the cocktail rm was so crowded we couldn't even get to the food. Not enough seats for everyone to sit, which i hate who wants to juggle their plate & drinks in hand. The dinner food was ok, we had fruit as appt and the fruit was so not ripe we couldn't eat it. Salad was good, entree was steak and it was just so-so. Desert was really not good no one at my table even ate it. The place is beautiful but no one at my table was impressed with the food.
