Consumer affair complaints - Is your vendor listed?
I found this helpful website, when trying to find Patken Photography's website. It actualy had bad news about them, and I already booked them. Although I have only heard good things about them, it still makes me a little uneasy.
Check if your vendor is on here. Also if you have had bad expereiences, post them.

Where would you go to find the vendors for DJ, Florist, Limo etc. The topics are really vague.
I just got married at TimberPoint on Sept. 18. You picked a wonderful place for your reception. Guests are still calling to rave about the food, service, outdoor cocktail hour, etc. As for DJ's. We actually ended up going with a band, but we met with TGIF and weren't sold on them at all. I would definitely explore other DJ's. The only advantage I found with house vendors was we weren't charged for their meals.
Good luck and enjoy TimberPoint!

I thought you had a great idea, so I went to the website but had trouble navigating it. How were you able to find a specific photographer, for instance? I had gone to the better business bureau's website and had a much easier time with it, but it gave very little information. My hall is managed by a company that had 1 complaint lodged against it and I don't know what that means. I didn't know if 1 was a lot or how severe a problem it was. I'd love to hear, if you had better success than I did, how you did it!

I am glad to hear that your wedding went nicely at Timberpoint. My fiancee and I feel in love with the place immediately. We are going to have pictures taken at the Bayard Arbortem down the road. Did you do the same?

I didn't really look through the website to much. I actually pulled it up when I went to www.dogpile.com and typed in Patken. I don't know if they have many vendors in the consumer affairs website. But the ones I did see were for Long Island. Sorry I couldn't help more.
I have played at many affairs where the "house DJ" was passed up and I was hired, for whatever the reason. I'm sure that you have been in that situation as well and would agree that the way you are treated by the management and staff of that catering facility is far different than if there were no "house" vendors.

The BBB website also instructs you on how to get Business Reports about your vendors. (This is all new to me, too.)
