continuing the hall search
So, update on our hall search:
...
...
.......
yeah. That's what I feel like I have right now. So far I've seen Fox Hollow, Watermill, Thatched Cottage, Carlyle on the Green, Cold Spring Country Club, and a drive by of Oheka (which was just too intimidating from the outside to even want to go in).
And... no scores yet. We've been talking seriously about doing it at the Vanderbilt Museum in Centerport, but that would have to be in a tent, and I'm just really hesitant to do a tent wedding, because it can get kind of chilly at night in October, and I'd be really nervous about the weather.
Right now the Vanderbilt is my best option though...
We had chosen and booked Fox Hollow, but then I showed it to my parents and they really weren't pleased with the idea of having more than one wedding going on at a time, and just didn't love the place. They made some good points, and we'd only seen about 3 halls at that point, so we decided to cancel and keep looking. I really do want to find a place where everybody can be comfortable, and the more I think about the whole one-party-at-a-time thing, the more I agree with it. Plus, I had always envisioned somewhere with extensive grounds and such, not somewhere right on the street like Fox Hollow.
Anyway.
I guess I just hoped that I would see a place and it would just strike me and I'd go 'yes! That's it! That's the one!' It hasn't happened yet though.
I have appointments this weekend with Flowerfields, Lands End, and Coindre Hall. I'm hoping one of them really clicks for me, because them I'm pretty much out of ideas. People have recommended a lot of other places, but for one reason or another, I've decided against them (didn't like the look of it from pictures, too expensive, not big enough, too far away, etc). So... yeah. Wish me luck with these visits this weekend ladies, because otherwise I'm going to start to get disheartened...
I kind of want to just get the hall thing done with so I can move on to other vendors...
sigh. end rant.
