Has anyone tried to get out of a contract with a vendor & if so how did it go--did you get your deposit back?

Re: Contracts
I know that in most you wouldn't but there is nothing specifically saying in my contract that I can't. Just says that in most cases they issue a store credit. But in most cases doesn't mean you can't get it back, so I was just wondering.

Re: Contracts
It should say it in your contract (usualy in very very very fine print). I dont think you get back the deposit.

Re: Contracts
There should always be something in your contract that states the instances that both parties can cancel the agreement. But it has to be a VERY valid reason.

Re: Contracts
I wish I could call my credit card company to cancel the charges but we paid by check at the request of the vendor. I booked them last june & I have't paid my 2nd deposit. I hope that i can just get out of it somehow!! Its really just making me uneasy & I am mad at myself that my FI & I thought everything was great--oh well you learn.

Re: Contracts
What exactly is going wrong? Maybe you'll be able to back out but not get the deposit back? Is there a cancellation clause?

Re: Contracts
The thing is that we gave them $1500 and I just don't want to back out w/o getting it back. I am just unhappy with one of my vendors & their practices after reading this board. There is just too much bad to outweigh anything good about them. The contract says that in most cases they give a store credit but why would I want a $1500 store credit. I think I might just stick it out but I am upset. In a month I am going to meet with them so I will see what happens.
