I went thru the RCIA program when I was 16 (at Our Lady of Peace, Lynbrook). So did my FH, 3 years ago(at Holy Child, Richmond Hill).
If you or FH have any questions, please feel free to FM me!

Re: Converting Catholic
I assume your FH is interested in converting?
I don't know anything about converting or your situation, but just FYI, it isn't necessary for your FH to convert in order for the two of you to be married in the Catholic church (assuming you are Catholic). FH and I are getting married in a Catholic church and he was raised Baptist (I am Catholic). Just wanted to let you know in case you and your FH felt converting was the only option.

Re: Converting Catholic
Deb is correct, the only thing your FH must agree to is raising any future children Catholic. They make the Catholic party sign a paper saying as much.

Check with your parish. I think a lot of places begin the process in the fall. It goes for several months- typically you meet once a week and most often you get baptized at the Easter vigil mass. The parish might do it more frequently than that, but I would say contact them ASAP, because it is a pretty long process.

Re: Converting Catholic
It's true, your FI does not have to convert. In fact, he doesn't even have to sign anything agreeing to raise your children catholic. The only one who had to agree to anything is the individual who is catholic. I had to agree to raise my children in the church and there is a form you have to fill out, a petition for interfaith marriage. Our deacon told us it's just a formality though. Good luck to you. Hope this is helpful.

Re: Converting Catholic
To convert though, it can take 8 months. I became Catholic about 4 yrs ago.(I had no religion )
It was 8 months of a class and then you receive all your sacraments. It was really nice and I learned a lot. Im happy that I did it!
