Convince me!

Convince me!

I am probably having around 100 pple on a friday or sunday nite in either july or april.

I am torn betweena few places and would love opinions on why out of these three i should pick it. what made u all finally pick ur hall??

Milleridge Cottage--must use Carriage house unless i can convince the entire company to lower the minimum for the Cottage room.

pro: country feel and price is good/ with alot in the package
con: hate the idea of having an outdoor ANYthing or tents so being that the CH would b outside im not thrilled, dance floor seems very narrow and cramped

Sandcastle:
pros: love love love the skylight room look, the price is descent heard. Love the back for pics.

cons: am not the only party taking place

North Ritz: pro only 1 party at a time, love the size of the room but worried about only having 100 pple in there, is the room too big for that? concerned about the ceremony, is the room nice enough???

In all honesty, I would tell you to keep on looking. There's plenty of other places. I've been to a million catering halls, so if you need any suggestions, fm me with what you are looking for in a hall.

Out of your choices I like the North Ritz the best but that is JMO. I also agree that there are plenty of places around so, if something is really bothering you, keep looking

hmm well i think both places are great. We picked sandcastle b/c the price and it was more out style. HONESTLY I have been there with two weddings going on ( the most they can have at once) and you could not even tell

if you have any other questions about sandcastle fm me!

Re: Convince me!

One of the reasons I didn't choose Milleridge is for the same reasons you don't like it, I am really didn't like the carriage house or the idea of having the CH outside under a tent, and the grounds are so-so, atleast on that side of the property..

As far as North Ritz vs. Sandcastle, I'd go with Sandcastle, overall, it's a pretty good price, and the property is well cared for. Also I hear the food is pretty good.

Not that I am knocking North Ritz, I guess I just didn't like as much as other places I've seen (JMO)

ETA: You really need to figure out what the most important features are that you would want in a hall, I agree with Diva Bride, look at a few more places before you decide

I looked at all those places as well and choose the North Ritz.....We felt they gave us the most for the $$.....if you are into the Country atmosphere try the George Washington Manor in Roslyn...it was very Charming....I'm not sure if they have ceromony's there.... here is their website http://www.georgewashingtonmanor.com/location.cfm

I'm wih Divabride...keep looking. You have plenty of time. Go to see as many places as you can and take lots of notes.

And use these boards as much as you can...a wealth of information 24/7! The people on these message boards are awesome and have helped me so much.

Have you called to see if the NRC lets you have a 100 minimum?

GW Manor has a place for ceremony - my friend got married there ten years ago.

Ive only been to NR so I cant compare but its very nice considering the price. Its very much a traditional location but the layout and food and decor are very nice for a traditional wedding. I think the ceremony I went to had over 100 ceremony guests and there was enough room.

When I walked into the SandCastle, I got that 'feeling' and I could just totally picture my wedding there. If you aren't getting that from any of these places, maybe you should keep looking. Every place is going to have cons. You just have to choose one where the pros far outweigh the cons.

Oh and BTW, I've also been there with more than one affair going on at the same (a concern for me also) and you could barely tell.

Re: Convince me!

i agree with your comment about north ritz

my sister got married and had 200 people there..

it felt just right...

with 100 people, it would appear the room is empty... would you even meet there min req?

unless!!! i don't know if they do this, but do they switch rooms? they is the ceremony room downstairs (never saw - ceremony at church) There cocktail hour room is a tad smaller and might work better (room next to patio leading outside). i duh know

but i love NOrth Ritz..!!

Re: Convince me!

the web site says it starts at holding 100...do u think somehow they make the room smaller??

Re: Convince me!

I LOVE the NRC, obvisouly - but I will admit when were thinking of having 150 ppl we were afraif that place would be to small. Then again, space is comfortable!

Re: Convince me!

Definitely ask them about the minimum. Because sometimes the minimum is higher for weddings ( on the weekends) than what the website says.

As for the Milleridge- I don't think its right for you. I love it,( and don't have a problem with the grounds) but you are not going to be able to use the Cottage & if dancing room is important for you, you will be too cramped.

Maybe you should keep looking since you seem to be very particular about what you want.

Re: Convince me!

id say keep looking...

also i think 100 is too small for cottage and north ritz minimuims(up around 150 or so?)...

carraige house is small compaired to other halls... better if you want closer to the 75 otherwise you loose dance floor...

sandcastle i love, they can do 2 wedding i think

honestly - if you need convincing, then probably none of those places are for you! when you find the right place, you will know!!!!

Re: Convince me!

Honestly if you have to be 'convinced' of a place then you havent found the right place yet. I walked in and didnt need to be convinced of a thing! I new I had to have it!!
