convo with FH that made me a bit bleh

we were talking this morning about the wedding. and how close it is. and I said how excited I am to take pix, and to see his face and expression when he 1st sees me in the dress. and those are my 2 top things I am most excited about.
then I asked him what is he mostly excited about. he got quiet for a whole 5 min stretch.
me: 'u have nothing to say? nothing u really excited about?'
FH: 'I am thinking............. '

w t eff?
as most of u know he is super involved in the wedding. we do everything together adn I know that he is very nervous with the wedding being so close, but he cant say one thing that he is excited about?
he just started listing all the elements of the wedding - gee tnx dude........

I'm sorry Regy. My FH is the same way. I keep asking if he's excited and he gives me stupid answers. I've learned that FH is not excited about the wedding, he's excited about the marriage. Yours is probably the same way.

all mine keeps saying... is I will be excited when it is closer.... 5 months you arn't excited yet with 5 months left to go! We have a 20 month engagement therefore you havn't cared about it for 3/4's of the entire time.

It's different for them.

Men don't think the same way we do. And even if we're not the kind of girls who dreamed about their wedding day since children, we still get a whole lot more excited and worked up about it.

He'll be excited when he's in the moment. Maybe he doesn't want to anticipate the idea of what's going to be exciting because he just wants to live it all in the moment.

omg this is too weird because i was just telling my FH that i'm excited about the wedding....time is going by so fast...so i asked him if he's excited? and he said, excited? no, i'm happy to be getting married to you. i'm nervous and anxious for the wedding day (because spot light will be on us) so he's a little nervous about that, and blah blah blah...LOL i was like geeeez i just wanted to hear yes baby i am excited too!!! LOL LOL

must be a guy thing

I love this saying!

I just feel he is concentrating too much on being nervous, rather than on the excitement. and I am nervous too, but I just try to think of the fun things. wish he could to the same

My FH says he's excited to move out of his mom's house and go to Hawaii.

My response, 'umm.. HELLO!!! Your excited to marry me! Riiiight?!?!'

The only thing FH is excited for is our cake and White Castle at the end of the night. Don't let it bother you, they might as well be a different species.

I think everyones FH is that same way - the other day I asked anthony what are you more excited about the wedding or the honeymoon? and he said 'I don't know' I was like are you excited???? and he said 'yea' I just think guys are different. . . . you know

my FH is just the same.

I have to bribe him to do anything wedding related.
When we reach little milstone dates, I am super excited & he is just like, 'oh yeah.'

Its so fustrating & annoying.

During the two year planning process he really only got excited a few times & only asked to look out ideas a handful of times.

wow Marie, u gave him 2 simple choices and he still cant choose. what can be simpler than that?

Aw, dont worry. I hear what youre saying but guys dont dream of every detail and vision the way we do! He'll be raving after he sees how beautiful youre going to look! Then he'll be talking about the ceremony! And the reception! Dont worry! He'll love everything. And Im sure hes looking forward to it all, just wasnt able to pinpoint something on the spot. :) And you're lucky, hes the minority with being sooo involved in the planning. We're all pretty lucky on here - seems a lot of the girls have great FH!

sounds like he is too caught up in the details to really take a step back and think about it

just try your best to get everything done a few days b4 the wedding so you guys can just relax...so then wen the wedding comes he will really be able to take it all in!!!

i know when im stressed and down-in-the-weeds on a project, i cant reallly seem to appreciate the big picture. so maybe thats where his head is right now

i know that day you will take his breath away! no worries there!

plus...if you ask most guys their fave part of the wedding, the answer is usually either (1) wedding planning being over or (2) the honeymoon

Mine is very involved but says the thing he's most excited about is for it to be over---I don't blame him either, he's a guy and he is ready to have his normal Rache back!

Don't be too hurt--guys aren't like us, they just don't get excited the same way.
