I love the idea, but I would include other stuff besides cookies. Maybe a pastry bar as well.

I would actually love to do this at my reception...cause I love to bake cookies and have so many unique family recipes that I know everyone invited would enjoy. Question...do you think my hall would let me bake my own cookies and have them displayed during dessert...or do you think they will say no because it's a liability to them?

i dont see why not! Tell them you got cookies from somewhere and pt them in like those bakery boxes and tell them to display them
