Cooking question

What is the difference between a non stick grill pan like this:

http://www.amazon.com/Calphalon-Nonstick-11-Inch-Square-Grill/dp/B0007MX5OE

or just a regular non stick pan/skillet like this:

http://www.amazon.com/Cuisinart-Classic-Nonstick-Hard-Anodized-10-Inch/dp/B0001LO5FY/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1255103955&sr=1-2

(besides the fact that the 1st one will make grill marks).

TIA

The grill pan has grooves in it for grilling, like a George Foreman grill or a bbq. You should get one of each

Re: Cooking question

Sorry if this is obvious, but you would use them for different things... for example, you would cook grilled meat on the grill pan and things like eggs, pancakes, or sauteed or fired foods, etc in the other one.... you wouldn't cook an egg in a grill pan... so you'd need both

Re: Cooking question

from what i see FH use the pans:

he uses a non stick grill pan for stuff that would/could go on a BBQ. (hamburgers, lamb chops)

he uses a non stick pan/skillet for stuff like scrambled eggs, veal chops, pork chops, vegetables.
