My sister and I were shopping (at BBB) for cookware on Saturday and had a real problem.
I found a set that I really liked, it had all the pieces I wanted BUT it had glass tops. I am soooo afraid of breaking these (I think it is nice to see through) How the heck do you store these????
One more question. If there is not grip on the handle (just metal) won't you burn your hand? Most of the cookware sets had no grips Why??

Re: Cookware
The glass lids are probaly tempered so they are pretty difficult to break. They can be stored the same as any other pot lid.
And I do not understand the metal handles either. Heat resistant? I don't think so! Granted they don't get as hot as the rest of the pot but they do get too hot for me to handle (draining pasta, etc).

Re: Cookware
The reason why the handles are metal are so the pots & pans can go from stove top to oven. I like the handles metal the best- when they have gripping on them, it limits their use.

Re: Cookware
Thanks! Interesting about the metal handles, never thought of that!
I KNOW I will burn my hand though. And most likely break the glass too

Re: Cookware
We have a set of pots with the glass tops and I love them. Our have handles and are easy to store just like any others.

Re: Cookware
Are your handles very high? These seem kind of high and don't really stack on top of each other. How do you store them?

Re: Cookware
We put smaller pots inside of them in the cabinets.

We put the tops in or on whatever pots we can.

Re: Cookware
I wondered the same thing about my metal lids handles. They get so hot. My old cheap set didn't have this so when I got my new good set I couldn't figure out why. Thanks for clearing that up. I never really thought of it that way...silly me.

Re: Cookware
I think you can save some space by storing the glass top by turning it upside-down and then putting it on top of the pan. We have those glass lids at home- they dont break easilly at all- trust me, we would have broken ours already if they were at all sensitive (we have managed to break those correlle unbreakable plates at my house)

Re: Cookware
I never thought of putting the pots in the oven to cook either:) I am such a spaz, I would probably reach for the handle right out of the oven too
We nest our lids inverted on the top of the pots so they can be stacked or put them all in the largest pot or pan. If they have a knob handle, there are pot lid organizers you can fasten to the inside of the cabinet door. I am not sure they will hold a lid with loop tops. does that make sense?
