Like a tin ceiling?? I liked them but my family and DH thought I was crazy. They thought it looked like it belonged in a pizza parlor.

I LOVE them! I think they look so classic. We are planning on doing this in the den when we redo it.

My parents put a tin ceiling (I guess they are similar?) in their kitchen with recessed lighting and it looks gorgeous. They painted it cream to match the kitchen but copper would look great with the right colors.

When we are settled in our house I plan to do the same kind of ceiling my parents have.

I have seen people use them for a backsplash in a kitchen...I think that would look cool

Is that your kitchen? I remember on an episode of trading spaces they used the copper cieling tiles....There is a pizza place in bellmore....that has the copper or tin ceiling tiles on their cieling. I think the place is called La Dolce Vita...It is across from the train station.

nothats not my kitchen, once you said something i looked it up on the website i foudn the ceiling tiles on..... i know where that place is... my & DH will have to check it out thanks!!

oh ok gotcha lol...If you look on tlc's website...they have a forum...If you post something on their about looking for tin or copper ceiling tiles, I am sure someone will get back to you about it....Or if you do a search on that site you may find pictures of that episode and you can see how it looks.

Anyone know how much that costs to tile the ceiling per tile?? I heard that they are expensive!

i've been seeing them for like $18 to $25 per tile thats 24x24 i'm only going to be using it on a small space anyway

It looks really nice in the kitchen. I don't think I would use it in any other rooms though. JMO

I have done many kitchens in that style. The pressed tin is more popular the the copper because many people decide to paint the panels down the road. The only pressed copper ceiling I have done was in a downstairs wine room. I installed a tin ceiling in our downstairs 1/2 bath and it looks fantastic. The secret is in the detail of using the true decorative nails to install the panels, not those pin nails from the lumber yard!
