Re: Coral House

i am from baldwin, so feel l i must comment...it is a very pretty place, my dad and stepmom were married there 16 years ago and i have been to many affairs there( formal and non ie high school things etc)...last i checked they are doing MAJOR work on the duckpond next door/behind it where many ppl like to take pictures. everything aroudn it has been blocked off and the pond was even drained i think. i havent been home in a few months though (but i am going tonight and can get back to you) but last time i was there this area was still all closed off.

also, the food can be fairly inconsistant, sometimes really good other times not as good. the one thing i would check on though is when the work on the duckpond park will be done beacuse the way it is now makes the whole place not as pretty from out the windows etc.

they do a great party though in terms of logistics and i dont know anyone who has been dissappointed.

Yes, I've been there and I did not notice any construction going on, so I guess it may be done, plus I am not getting married until June 4, 2006. Thanks for the advice.

Re: Coral House

Hi I got married there so i can tell you from experience.

We had a wonderful expereince at Coral House. 3 months later and up to yesterday i still got a call about the reception.

We took our photos by the lake, the work was almost done as I wanted a lake and got a lake in my wedding pics lol. And the view in the day and night are beautiful out the windows.

As for food. I will say this. Everyone ate at our reception..and I mean ATE. Sometimes I have been to weddings where people say the food was good yet people hardly touch the food..so I say talk is cheap. I have a friend who got married at a certain hall..I can FM u that info since I dont bash anyones hall openly and they said that the food was bland like alot of the other halls since they cater to a certain palate. All I can say is we didnt want bland hall food for sake of a pretty place..we wanted a place where people were full and happy.

What rooms do you have?

Your picture is beautiful myasmom, very nice. I have the Natucket room and I hope to have my ceremony outside by the lake. What room do you have. The food is pretty good from what I had at the tasting. I really like this place, I've been to the Coral House twice for wedding and was pleased. Just wanted some other opinions... Thanks.

Re: Coral House

We had the deck for the cocktail hour (thats not standard..u usually have the colonial which is pretty too) and the nantuket deck for dinner.

We didnt go on a tasting night but on a sunday when they were preparing for a wedding..which is better since u taste the actual food to be served.

All I can say to you is..u made a great choice. We had a major issue witha cendor that could ahve ruined our wedding and Coral house single handedly saved our day.

Re: Coral House

How did you get the deck for cocktail hour, do they charge extra or do you have to request it.

Re: Coral House

The deck is usually for the Americana room for the large weddings. Since I was one of those brides who went through the strain of the dredging of the lake, they had a last minute cancellation (think wedding was called off) and the manager gave it to me after much pleading lol.

To get it u must have 150 or at times 175 plus guests.

Re: Coral House

Yes that is true, I plan on not having over 150 guests.

Re: Coral House

My cousin got married at the Coral House and I thought the room was beautiful (Don't remember the name, but it's the largest one with the fireplace in the middle). There was so much room on the dance floor. And from what I can remember the service was good.

The one thing I didn't like was the room they had the cocktail hour. It was downstairs and very cramped. The tables were so close together that you couldn't move around and mingle. For the number of people they had Coral House should have given them a larger room. So just make sure they give you the right size room to accomadate the # of guests you have.

Besides that it we had a really good time....

The Americana room is the large room..the downstairs room is used whenit is too cold. When it is warm they have the cocktail hr on the rooftop terrace/deck.

Re: Coral House

I went to a wedding there two weeks ago. They had the ceremony outside by the lake and the cocktail hour was on the rooftop terrace. The food at the cocktail hour was great. The reception was in the Americana room.

i really liked Coral house when i visit the food was great and I love the Lake. But after I saw the Swan Club I fell in LOve. But if anything was to go wrong I would pick the Coral house.
