Coral House vs. West Lake Inn vs. Sunset Harbour vs. Stonebridge CC
Ok, well as most of you know I'm having a hard time finding the right hall. We've been to 14 halls already and have contacted almost every other one on long island
My heart is set on Majestic Gardens, but my wallet doesn't like it there.
So FH loves West Lake Inn (patchogue), I LIKED it... I liked the bridal suite and how the upstairs is laid out, the cocktail room I thought was a little small and the ball room.. well I didn't like the dance floor or where it was positioned, he actually likes it.
their price is right.
Coral house (baldwin), we both liked when we went there, there was one little issue I noticed in the ball room, that could be 'covered', the bridal suite was HUGE, the cocktail room (inside) was small but we'd most likely use the roof top (weather permitting), this is the only hall that we actually sampled the food, and although I was allergic to almost everything served, what I did eat I LOVED, he liked everything too. but I've heard from a few people that they got sick from their food at different events.
again, their price is right
sunset harbour (east patchogue)- we haven't been there yet, but another bride was nice enough to send me her information and they are affordable, if we are given the same price, the way she describes it.. its perfect, but we'll have to check it out.
stonebridge cc (smithtown)- we are going there today to see it, I was given a quote that is affordable, but based on pictures.. it looks a little small... so we're iffy, hopefully when we go later it'll be bigger in person.
So ladies, what I ask of you...
your opinions on each, if you had to choose between these 4 who would you choose?
have you been to any of them before?
Pros and Cons
Tell me if you had a BAD experience, I want to know.

Re: Coral House vs. West Lake Inn vs. Sunset Harbour vs. Stonebridge CC
I can only comment on West Lake Inn and Sunset Harbour, but I think either of those places would be a great choice. What West Lake Inn lacks in ambiance/grounds, it more than makes up for in reputation and quality. You'll be getting the same great food and service as Land's End and Flowerfields.
Sunset Harbour definitely offers quite a bit for the $$. It's a very pretty place with beautiful views of a marina. I've heard only great things from people who have been to weddings there, and even know of someone who had their own wedding there after having worked there previously, which I think says a lot about a place.
Good luck!

Definitely keep your appointments! You'll never really know if you like or place or not unless you actually go look at them yourself.

Go to the Coral House. My FH and I didn't have any problems from tasting their food. Linda is great to work with. JennandRolo was married there May 25, 2008, please loo at her review, plus she add video so you can really see how it is. Go to all of them, plus there are many other places for RH that are not on LIW. Good Luck.

We've been to the coral house. We didn't have a problem with the tasting either, but I heard from other people that were married there OR had attended a party that got sick, one of them on more then one occasion (a 'friend' of mine).
Could you suggest any other RH's that aren't on LIW? We've been to 14 already and are on a budget.

Re: Coral House vs. West Lake Inn vs. Sunset Harbour vs. Stonebridge CC
I only saw West Lake Inn and Sunset Harbour.I wasn't thrilled with how West Lake looked at all, but I hear the food is really good. It's Lovin Oven catering.
I was actually so close to booking sunset because the price was great and I thought it was really pretty and on the water. The only reason I didn't was because most of the dates I wanted were taken and I didn't want to book w/o tasting the food, because someone told me it wasn't good (no offense to anyone, this wasn't my opinion). They do tastings so I would go to one of them and see for yourself. I just got anxious and didn't want to wait for the tasting and ended up booking Majestic Gardens for more $
Dont ask how I justified that to myself. Anyway, the point is I think Sunset would've been great either way. Their prices on right on the sheet so you know they're telling you the same thing as everyone else. (you can still talk them down a little too)

Like I had said earlier, Sunset Harbour was wonderful. It's currently our 2nd choice. But also, my brother had his wedding at Coral House-- 13 years ago I believe, and honestly, I was 9 years old so of course I had fun playing with the kids. But what I heard from the 'grown-ups' was that it was very beautiful and very reasonable.

Re: Coral House vs. West Lake Inn vs. Sunset Harbour vs. Stonebridge CC
no, we have to do a saturday evening. We had our hearts set on majestic gardens, but they were too expensive, they gave us a great deal for a sunday and we were going to book it, but my father basically talked us out of it. he more or less said he wouldn't go on a sunday, he has his reasons.Fridays are out, we've said that since day 1. and a saturday afternoon is a problem because of the church.
