hi ladies,


i need some advise. How much should i tell my parents the wedding is going to be? currently it is around 40,000 with DYI and not the honeymoon.

i know they are going to flip cause its a lot. granted they arent paying (not as of yet.

what are the price range ppl are up to? i have 175 guest.

Well, it seems like you have two choices: either tell them the truth and if they flip, you'll have to work through it; or, since they aren't paying for it, you can give them a roundabout figure or whatever number you want in order to save yourself the drama.

Mine is $40k without honeymoon and 125 ppl. It makes me nauseous to think I'm spending that much on one night, but I really am taking the most inexpensive way with quality vendors so I'm OK with it. I think if you explain that to them you will understand. Good luck!!

we are thinking incl'd honeymoon will be about 35k, i told my mom 'in the 30 range' but i always have to lowball these types of things with her.

All of our parents (all divorced) are helping pay for certain things and after all is said and done I think we will top out at 30K (hopefully a little less) for 100 people. This is including rings, RD and honeymoon.

I have no problem telling any of our parent's how much it is costing (it may make then want to help more - lol) because they are giving us what they can and we are paying for the rest so they really can't judge.

I would say around 30-35k.. We are trying to shoot for 20-25k. We shall see :)
