Cost Implications of DIY Invitations?

Hi Ladies...

I'm planning on doing my own invitations as what I want is not hard to recreate plus I think I can save quite a few dollars. On the other hand, I only need about 50 invites (maybe 60 max)...so I'm not sure if its worth it to do it myself.

I'm curious - How many invites did you make and how much do you think you saved on invitations by doing them yourself? If you had to do it over again, would you do them yourself or was it not worth the hassle?

Your insight is much appreciated!!!

I haven't made my wedding invites yet, but I have made several shower invites. 100 invites takes me one full day. My hands hurt afterward but the finished product and the compliments are well worth it.

If you want it to be personal, make them yourself. If you don't have the time, then buy them. For 50 invites the cost difference may not be the much depending on the style.

I have mixed feelings on this. I wanted to do my own but I had my last school semester and didn't have the time. One of my BM did her own and liked them and saved money but theought it was a hassle. It's up to you to determine how well you can do the project and how much time it'll take and then how much your personal time is worth. It's all a trade off!!

I made my own E-party invites. Yes it was a pain, but it was worth it, its better than giving up $200+. Once you have everything writen down and the card lined up right its just feeding them into the printer. I will most likely make my own invites.

I love your invites. I went to the website. Which size did you use? Are the envelopment, invite paper and backing all separate sheets of paper? How did you attach the papers? Where are RSVP envelopes? Do your invitations cost more money to mail?

I know...so many questions but I love them.
