Cost of BM dresses

So, I feel like every BM dress I touch is $300+, and I can't ask my girls to spend over $200 w/ alterations. Besides RK Bridal does anyone know of any stores (not websites) that have good prices? Is $200 too much to ask them to spend?

no i don't think 200.00 is a lot to spend for a bm dress....my moh dress is 200.00 plus 50.00 for alterations...

bm dress are 178.00 plus 50.00 for alterations....

My girls dresses were $165 before tax and alterations from David's bridal.
From a smaller salon when I was in my cousin's wedding a couple of years ago the dress was $230 and then alterations were another $50 or so i think? We (the bridal party) helped pick out the dress so basically I think we put on what we thought would look best on us and thought about price after. Definitely should be under $300 IMO. Being IN wedding costs SO much money. Hair, nails, shoes, dress, shower, engagement etc...I feel bad!

Netbride.com......ordering Bill Levkoff dresses from them for $125 each.....they match any price.

I searched for a dress I liked, asked Phyllis at BridalElegance (aka gownfind) her price was lots lower then anyone else... i got mine for 114!
email her the style number and she may be able to beat/meet netbride

My girls are getting Ann Taylor dresses. You can use the coupons and get an additional discount by signing up for a card, so my girls paid between $120 and $140 for their dresses.

For the weddings I've been in I've paid:

Watters & Watters from Priscilla of Boston in Short Hills, NJ - $225 for dress, $40 for alterations (cap)

Jim Hjelm from Bridal Reflections in Massapequa- $190 for dress, $60 for alterations (cap)

After Six from Sukrans in Westport, CT - $150 for dress, not sure about alterations

phyllis @ bridal elegance got my BM dress (Bill Levkoff) for $100 LESS than bridal shops. and her alterations cap is like $45-50. so my BM is paying $200 total for her dress!

Try Helen's Bridal in Commack. My girls paid around $140 plus alterations for their dresses.

My girls dresses are 250 before alterations.....They all lovedddd the dress so they didnt care about price..

Try bridal reflections they arent so bad....but it really depends on the designer....bill levoft(i spelled it wrong), alvina valenta, etc

I know I've complained about Davids bridal, but I got a dress there for my MatOH's wedding at it was about 195.
My BM dresses are 160 before alterations and we found them at the Commack Wedding Center.

My girls paid 105 for the dress....its an Alfred Angelo

alts are caped at 45$

We went to Phyllis at Bridal Elegance and my BM's dresses were $128 (I was quoted $219 and $165 for the same dress at 2 other salons) without tax and alterations. Her prices are great!

phyllis had gownfind.com and then she got very popular and now has a store named Bridal Elegance. it's easier to go to the store or call to get quotes on dresses.

just go under Vendors--Bridal Gowns--and her store is listed under there. it's located in Dix Hills off Jericho Tpke in the Maddaloni Jewelry complex

My girls are paying $185 for a Bill Levkoff dress plus $25 for alterations from Valentina's in Brooklyn.

wow i dont think i have seen any dresses over $300!

Most places I went to so far were in the $150 - 225 range, no i dont think $200 is too much to sepnd
i went to:
Valentina's in Brooklyn
Flowerama in Ridgewood
Carosel on Northern Blvd
oh and another store in Lynbrrok but i dont remember the name
and David's Bridal

My BM dresses were $129 with $45-65 alteration cap. Designer is Mackenzie Michaels (a LI designer) purchased at Bridal Suite in Centereach. Definitely check them out...their prices are reasonable and service has been stellar thus far. Good luck!

I also used Bridal Suite in Centereach and so did my two other friends (for their bridesmaids) that are getting married. My girls are getting a beautiful Alvina Valenta dress for only $160. I don't know about anyone else but this was the hardest decision so far, even harder than my own dress. I wanted something elegant but not for alot of money. I found it and I would definitely suggest looking at Bridal Suite as well!!!
