A good estimate is $1000 per day, so if you do 10 days, $10,000. If you do 7 days, $7,000 etc.
What will also affect your price is which islands you go to and the type of room you stay in.
Tahiti is actually more like a city than what you would imagine French Polynesia to be, so most people just spend one night here (direct flights get in at midnight their time) and then fly out to one of the other islands the next morning. This is the least expensive island to stay on.
Moorea is a very popular island that most people go to. It is more polynesian etc. It is also said to be the island where you can do more activities if you are looking to do that.
Bora Bora is said to be the most beautiful of the islands (but everyone will have their own opinion). It is also considerably more expensive to stay at than Moorea. Most people won't head out to French Polynesia without staying on Bora Bora. The famous Bloody Mary's restaurant is on Bora Bora.
Then there's Tahaa which is probably the priciest place to stay. VERRRY

Nothing to do on the island in terms of activities, but it is supposed to be very beautiful and relaxing.
As for room categories, the three most popular are garden bungalows, beach bungalows, and overwater bungalows (with there being regular and premium levels within those categories). The overwater bungalows are the priciest, but they are definitely worth a stay in for at least a couple of nights.
We booked our French Polynesia honeymoon just last week through Tom Varghese (email is:
[email protected]). He got us a great deal for a package that included:
4 nights in Moorea in a garden bungalow (#2 hotel!)
4 nights in Bora Bora in an overwater bungalow
Breakfast and dinner every day already included
Motu picnic with shark/fish feeding on Moorea
Dinner at Bloody Mary's on Bora Bora
Cancel-for-any-reason-upto the day before Trip Insurance.
Our trip is 10 days but you lose 2 traveling (it's the other side of the world!).
The only direct flights from JFK to PPT (Papeete, Tahiti) are on Wednesdays and Fridays in September. So if you don't want to wait until the Wednesday after your wedding to leave, you will have to go with a connection in LA (this is what we're doing since we don't want to wait).
If you have any other questions, just FM me! It ISSSSS a lot of money, but you can get a good deal or stay less nights, or spend less time in an overwater bungalow to save if you want.
