We don't need to redo the whole Bathroom, but how much do you think it would cost to put in a new with cabinets (1 sink) and maybe a new linoleum floor? It's a small bathroom. The tub and tiling is nice already so we don't need to do that.
Also, we would like to redo the cabinets and countertop in the kitchen. We're not sure if you could just reface them or would have to replace them. It's an older house but the kitchen is one thing that still hasn't been upgraded yet. And the countertop is just white right now. We can't spend a lot. Just something that's appealing to a buyer.
We can't do any of this work now, but in the future, it's good to know. Thanks!

Re: Cost of updating BA and Kitchen...
We are in the process of replacing our half bath - we are doing the work ourselves. With tile, drywall, new sink and bowl (all thru Home Depot) it is costing us approximately 2000.
I have yet to do anything with the kitchen, so I cannot help you there.

Re: Cost of updating BA and Kitchen...
In our bathroom, we replaced the lighting, medicine cabinet, vanity and sink. We bought all the supplies at Home Depot (variety of prices depending on what you want) and had a contractor install it all and take away the old for $400.
We're not DIYers at all, but decided to try the linoleum floor ourselves and it took us a while but it turned out well. (Total cost $30)
Kitchen was a different story - we started out thinking we'd just reface the cabinets and put down a new floor, but found doing that work was going to be pretty expensive and our kitchen was old and really needed more than that and decided to gut it and start from scratch. Don't ask how much that cost

Re: Cost of updating BA and Kitchen...
When we moved into our co-op, it was a MESS!! I mean holes in the bathroom sink, cabinets falling apart...you name it. We ripped everything out and redid it all. The kitchen was done by my DH, my father and his friend. We bought everything from Home Depot.
The bathroom was done by some workers who did a pretty good job, we tiled the whole bathroom after knocking down all the walls and putting wonderboard up. They decided to bring in more people to make the job go quicker, but then demand more money. That's when they got thrown out. (My father has a history of doing that )
Anyway...sorry for the long story...in the end it came to around $8,000.
