Re: Costa Rica

I went to Costa Rica. Please DO NOT MISS the Arenal area. There is a volcano there that produces a naturally occuring hot spring where you can soak and swim. It is amazing. There is a resort that is built around the springs. It is called Tabacon and it is in the town of Fortuna.

Check it out
Tabacon

The Monteverde cloud forest is also amazing. We took a canopy tour there. Also a DO NOT MISS. You literally swing through the trees like Tarzan in the rain forest. SOOOOO GREAT.

Re: Costa Rica

Yes, we just came back from our HM last Sat, it was INCREDIBLE.
We stayed at Tabacon for two nights -amazing. We went on a river tour while we were there. Then went to Monteverde and stayed at El Establo for two nights. Monteverde is in the mountains, its beautiful. We did a tour of the Monteverde cloud forest and zip lining. You HAVE to do the zip lining in the canopy!!
Then we we went to Manuel Antonio and stayed in Si Como No for four nights - beautiful hotel, and the two restaurants had great food. While we were there, we took a tour of Manuel Antonio National Park, went to the beach, went to the nature reserve and Butterfly gardens across the street from the hotel, and went on an awesome horseback riding trip.
Our last stop was back to San Jose (the capital and where the airport is). We stayed there for two nights as well and did white-water rafting on the Pacuare River (about 3 hours from san jose.). I wanted to also visit downtown San Jose and see the restaurants/shopping, but DH got sick and we spent the nights in the hotel.

We arranged our trip through the company Memorable Costa Rica which I HIGHLY recommend. We both felt when seeing some of the other companies on the tours we were on we always had the best tour guides. They also arranged for private transfers between each hotel.

Some of the pics are in my community album . I have over 300 I uploaded into snapfish, which I am working on getting into order and with captions. If you'd like the link to see those, send me an FM.

Costa Rica is definitely a great choice for your HM!!
