Finally decided that we wnat to go to Costa Rica for honeymoon. Has anyone been there for honeymmon before? Since we are going to be going several months after the wedding, we were lookign for a few days of pampering, etc and then exploring around the region.
Any specific tour companies you have used and can recommend?
Any ideas you girls have would be really appreciated!
Thanks SO much!!

Re: Costa Rica
I've gone to Costa Rica on vacation with my FH. We stayed at Playa Hermosa twice....the prices are reasonable and it's beautiful, on the beach with a pool, staff is professional and friendly.

Re: Costa Rica
We stayed in Manuel Antonio, which was a really nice beach town. We rented a house, but there were a lot of small hotels. Not sure how much pampering there is! We did mostly outdoor activities. We used the companies suggested by the owner. The rainforest was beautiful! They have tour guides you hire and they take you through the trail and show you all the wildlife and identify plants (he even showed us stuff we could eat which we sampled), and they have these scopes so you can see the animals in the trees up close and take pics through it.

Re: Costa Rica
I went with a friend on a vacation and booked through Costa Rica Vacations and they were awesome every step of the way. From picking us up inside the airport, transporting us from location to location, setting up excursions, choosing hotels that suited our needs. Really friendly, professional and wonderful service.
I recommend not sticking around San Jose more than a day. It was the only place where we had trouble using U.S.D. and had communication problems.
As far as where to travel, I highly recommend picking at least two areas. We spent 5 days around Arenal (cloud forest) at a lodge overlooking the active volcano. Amazing. We did a zipline here...all I can say is 'wow.'
We then spent 5 days at Tamarindo, totally laid back beach community. The entire town stops everything each day and watches the sun drop below the horizon. What a view.
I loved every minute of this trip and if you need more info, please feel free to FM me.

Re: Costa Rica
if you want pampering check out www.recreocostarica.com. They are luxuary villas. They pick you up at the airport and transport you to the villas. Each couple has their own private villa which is really a private 2-5 bedroom house. With the house you get a private chef who wil cook you fabulous costa rican meals every night as well as breakfast and lunch, snacks nad make you drinks! your own maid for the home and a private golf cart that you can travel to their private beach with. all activities included at beach.
they will also arrange for any other day excursions you would like to go on and provide private transportation-they even do a day trip to nicaragua that was amazing!! as far as arenel is concerned they will arrange to get you there to and will also arrange for hotel accomedations for you there. They will also arrange for someone to come to the resort and give you a massage either in their room or in your house. They will also arrange a dinner at the top of the mountain (the resort is built on a mountain) for you and your FH to enjoy watching the sun set. Most amazing sun set I ever saw was here!
i truly think this is AN amazing honeymoon spot! it's in a part of costa rica which is beyond breath taking and a perfect place for some couple time with a LOT of pamering the entire trip! You will leave feeling like a princess...trust me I did!

Re: Costa Rica
We are going to Costa Rica for our honeymoon. I used Marinathe travel experta to make all of our reservations. We are staying at Arenal Nayara for the first part of our trip. Then we are doing a rafting trip with Exploradora Outdoors they will be our transportation to get to the next place in Puerto Viejo Hotel Banana Azul It has been recommended to spend the last night near the airport so we are staying at Casa Bella Rita the last night. All 3 of our hotels were recommended by Marina but I did a lot of research and they are all top rated hotels. We decided not to do an all inclusive but there are a couple to choose from on the pacific coast. We wanted a little off the beaten track. good luck I am so excited to go to Costa Rica:)
