Where are you staying??

Trying to book the honeymoon.

I'm thinking a few days in Tabacon (hot springs)

and either JW Marriott or Paradisus Playa Conchal.

So I'll have the rainforest and beach. Should I go anywhere else???

Not going to Costa Rica but have been there..If you're going to Arenal, I recommend waterfall rapelling with PureTrek and have some dinner in La Fortuna at La Choza de Laurel..casual and very reasonable place...very yummy.

Have a blast, I love CR! Btw, Tabacon is supposed to be AWESOME. My uncle stayed there and loved it.

Thanks for the suggestions!! Tabacon is in Arenal (pretty sure). Sounds awesome! I would love to do that. Can't wait to do all those adventure activities- it's my favorite.

Tabacon is pretty! But if gets crowded because people come at night on tours (which I did!) I actually stayed at Lost Iguana, which is much smaller and romantic!

We stayed at the Marriott also, which was a beautiful hotel....the pool has all these interconnecting waterways. Take a day trip to Manuel Antonio from there. It is a national park with tons of monkeys!

Thank you for the tips!! DId you go to the cloud forest?

We are booked at the Paradisus Playa Conchal, we like the idea of an all inclusive and plus the hotel sets up any of the excursions we want to go on like the zip line! We are staying 7 nights and can't wait! Good luck with your planning

Jackoe - I stayed at the Arenal Observatory lodge and yes, Tabacon is in Arenal/La Fortuna (La Fortuna is actually the name of the town). Arenal Observatory Lodge was amazing, but I wouldn't recommend it only because the road to get there was terrible. I read reviews, but it really was like another planet. In turn, the cab rides were like 21 when you wanted to get to town.

Tabacon is in a good location. If you want more private hot springs, we did some called Ecotermales. Very private & clean and they served an AWESOME meal afterwards.

We also love adventure and while we were in Arenal we did the Hanging Bridges, Venado Caves (which was alot cooler than I expected), Waterfall Rapelling, went down to La Fortuna waterfall and a Volcano Hike Tour in conjunction with Ecotermales.

I also went to Manuel Antonio which is rainforest meets beach. The park/reserve is small there but it has the most animals per capita. You'll see alot of wildlife there. We took surf lessons, kayaked and snorkeled there.

We did Monteverde, the cloud forest as well. The BEST part of our trip was doing the Original Canopy Tour there. It really is the original and you're really high in the canopy. Awesome views of the gulf. There's also a tarzan swing and 2 rappells (you're so high that one of them they basically let you free fall and they catch you 3/4 down). To get to one of the platforms, you go inside a hollowed out fig tree and climb up. Monteverde is only 1.5 hours away from La Fortuna and one hour of it is a nice boatride through the lake.
