cottage cheese

Original post by mtdr1106

ok - so does this sound gross - cottage cheese on a eggo waffle??

this is assuming you eat cottage cheese - which i do and love and am currently eating spread on top of an eggo waffle.

why do co-workers keep passing and making that cringe face and say 'what are you eating?'

i dont think it is offensive @ all..

Are you allowed to add anything to it?

What diet are you on? Awesome for sticking to it for 8 days!

Well, I put the fruit salad on top of it. Does that help? It's fat free cottage cheese.

I have been doing a modified 5 factor diet for a few weeks now, but the past week I have been fully working it.

I felt the same about the high protein cereal with Fage yogurt combo, but I've been pretty hooked on it for the last few weeks.

awesome the diet longevity!

the things we do for health - I have been eating fat free plain yogurt with a dash of splenda mixed in. It was hard. I get to dip home made strawberry oat bars in it though.

thanks! I feel better already!

(but I am really iffy on this cottage cheese) however, I am over being a fatty. So on with it.

is there a reason it's cottage cheese....b/c perhaps you could try this yogurt. it's not a sugared yogurt (just the straight up greek stuff...you could make tsitsiki of out it really) so it it's a calories only thing, and you can't do the cottage cheese, maybe you could check it out.

a diet is fine and all, but you will grow tired of it quickly if you don't at least LIKE what you are eating!

Good luck! I have never really even tried it, although I just bought it for a recipe I am doing this week. It could be good, I just have issues with the consistency. I had the same issues with Oatmeal, which is actually pretty good.

Wow - 8 days! I lasted only 4 last week when I tried to stick with a raw foods vegan diet. My willpower is nil.

I like everything I am eating so far. The yogurt was a risk, and I am cool with it now. I am glad I tried it.

I think it's cottage cheese because of the protein factor. There are 14 grams per .5oz. You can swap things out, so if I end up not liking the cottage cheese - I can do yogurt or just sprinkle soy protein powder.

The idea is to have a balance of protein, carbohydrates, fiber, and fat in each meal.

Consistency is my MAJOR issue, and looks. I am with you. I like oatmeal too though. A lot...

I always wanted to try a raw foods diet!

I bought a dehydrator and everything. You can dehydrate things up to 105 degrees and it is still considered raw (but it takes forever to make anything). I think DH liked all the recipes more than me. He said he would eat the zucchini 'pasta' again, but I didn't even like it! I am still making random recipes from my 'cook'book, seeing if I find something I love and can restart with that as a foundation.

You should try the restaurant Pure Food And Wine here in the city. It's raw vegan and crazy good...one of my favorite places to eat actually

oh, I knew nothing about dehydrators being involved. That scares me!

The enzymes are only killed above that temperature. It is actually really interesting and compelling, but I am such a food whore that it is so so hard.

It took 16 hours to dehydrate my raw foods apple-cinnamon muffins, and they were not as delicious as hoped. I may stick them back in and hope they magically get more bready.

I want to try that - right now. I may have to sucker Dh into eating there with me. It may motivate me to attempt vegan raw foods chefery again.

I enjoy fat free ricotta cheese.
ETA- not sure about the protein count, but you could supplement with a teaspoon of semen.
