Coughing Question

Why is it that when you have a cough, it always gets worse at night?

I feel fine during the day....and then at night....BOOM! it hits me and I can't stop coughing!

ANNOYING!!!!!!

also.....will i ever be able to breathe through my nose again....anyone know?

You are proably coughing due to post nasal drip which is why you cough more when you lay down. Try propping your head up with some pillows

The coughing thing probably has to do with laying down, but I am not sure.

see, it would ake sense if it was because i was lying down to sleep - which is why i've been sleeping with tons of pillows propping my head up.....
but it's like as soon as the sky gets darker...even if i'm still sitting at the computer, the coughing begins again.....it's insanity!
Could it be tidal? and the moon brings out the coughs? or am i crazy!?

And thanks for the idea...I have a magic * ball - I'll check to see what it says about my breathing issue!!! cr@p - it said 'very doubtful'

I cough more at night because I breathe deeply before I fall off to sleep. If we don’t have our humidifier on it gets too dried out in our room. I normally ALWAYS start to cough about an hour after lights out. It’s annoying. We put on the humidifier when it started really getting cold and the heat was on. It’s been easier since then.

As far as breathing normally? God If I could ONLY JUST!
I figure it’s just not meant to be. That’s why I have two nostrils .. they seem to alternate the responsibility of being an open passageway for air.

I wish I could help!!! I just wanted you to know that the last time I could breathe through my nose was 12/26/03 at 11;46pm. So, I understand your frustration.

isnt' it sad when you can remember the last time you could breathe through your nose.....mine was a lot sooner than you though

Ok it smells really bad & will pretty much scare anyone out of your bed.....FH/DH, the dog... but the stuff works! put ti under your nose & on your chest.. I swear, DH & I live by this stuff in the winter.

I actually love the smell of vaporrub - but i never have any around.
and luckily i can't get my damn mortgage to go through so tom and i don't live together yet - maybe i'll try some of that!
