Could someone help me find a photo cube...

Could someone help me find a photo cube...

I was looking for a big photo cube like this one to hold the envelopes. Do any of you ladies know where I could get one - perhaps just a bit bigger than this one.

(I got this from a bride on here, and I don't remember who exactly.... so I apologize for not giving credit!)

I posted the same thing like three months ago and no luck. I was able to find smaller ones, but none that big. Let me know if you find it. If not FH is going to have to make it. Maybe I can get him to make yours too.

Yup--that's right.......I saved her directions. I don't generally do DIY projects...but this is one I'm going to try.

Here are her directions:

First I bought 4 8x10 frames and 8 metal 'L' fasteners. The first thing we did was put the pictures in and attach the frames at the top and bottom. I bought a square piece of decorative wood from Michaels and painted that black for the base. Hot glue the frames to the base. Then I cut a foam square to fit inside the top of the frames and cut the slit throught it for the cards. I cut a piece of cardboard the same size and cut a slit in that too. Glue the foam to the cardboard. Then cover the foam with material. This was completely trial and error. I covered it, then pulled excess through the slit so that it would cover the inside of the slit. I then cut that so that we could pull it back and tape underneath. You can either use a glue gun or clear duct tape. I took those plastic hooks (you can get them in target) and place them upside down on each of the backs of the 4 frames so that when you place the material covered foam in the box it doesn't fall in. You can modify this for whatever works for you! Good luck!

My FH made us one for our e-party and everyone was talking about it. Here are some pics. He is going to be making another one because I want to use one for the wedding but I want to make it white instead. The box is on a base and it rotates so that people can spin it to look at the pics. We used 8 x 10 frames that held 4 photos each because I wanted to use a lot of our pics. Also we put the frames lengthwise instead of upright in order to make the box bigger to hold more cards. We were actually thinking about making them and selling them but I am not sure how much people would be willing to spend.

My Dad custom made one for me to be used on wedding day...looks similiar to one posted (where got idea from) but with a few updated features...he made mine spin using a black 'lazy susan'..in addition my mom custom-made matting with frame cutter she has so that I could have any pictures, any size, any length with any color matting.

For the top, my Dad also made a flip top...so it is similiar to a mailbox...

anyway- I told him we should patent it and try to sell it. :) Or at least let someone else use the one he made for me. :)

I don't normally go on about something like this..but it came out really great.
