Could use some help!!

Hi, All,

I am new to these chats as fiance and I just decided to get married a few weeks ago-we are tying the knot this October!! Quick background-we dated for three years back in the day. Fifteen years and one marriage (for me) later, we found our way back to each other. We feel like we've been given a very rare second chance and are truly blessed.

Anyway, due to this being my second wedding and low finances, we are trying to keep our wedding simple, yet elegant. We found a beautiful Knights of Columbus where we will have our ceremony and reception. We are not going to have a photographer, but wanted to see if anyone can recommend a videographer, officiant and dj who are VERY reasonably priced and will make our special day memorable. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I can suggest my DJ, not sure if they're in the budget your looking to stay within...

You might look into local colleges and find film students or photography students who can do video for you. They would be more than happy to do it for a reasonable price and get some practice. I think Craig's list will also be a good place to start looking for video. As for DJ, unless you really have your heart set on an MC you can do it yourself. A good friend of mine made mix cds for each part of his reception. One for first dances, one for dinner, a couple different ones for dancing and then played them on a good speaker set. You might also want to ask the people at the knights of columbus if they can recommend a DJ.

You could try Wedding World in Commack for a videographer and DJ, it's all 'one stop shopping' there and the prices are pretty low. As for an officiant, we used Fr. Tom McCormick who charged $400, not sure if that's in your range.

For a DJ, I would recommend VJ Entertainment. He's a vendor on here. Oh, and as a previous poster said, you should definitely go on the Vendors Helping Brides board and post this question. For video, I'm using Wild Rose. They are awesome. www.wildrosevideo.com
