We are looking for a countertop for our kitchen now. At first we wanted granite but the more I look at it I don't like the shininess. We saw a countertop we really like at Home Depot. it is DuPont Simplicity, kind of like a Corian. Any comments?

never heard of this, but have you looked into silestone?
dupont makes great products there corian is the best on the market..

Silestone is also very shiny. I don't really like the shiny look, I am looking for something a little bit more matte. The only reason why I am leaning towards Simplicity over th Corian is because there is a color I really love in Simplicity that Corian does not have. Does anyone know of any other types of materials for countertops that are durable and great quality but that are not shiny? Are there any other types of stones? Price is not an issue since our kitchen is very small. Thanks.

how about soapstone? personally, i LOVE soapstone counters and sinks.
