Cover page for resume

What info do you out in a cover letter or an email you are sending to a co when sending your resume?

I would say something like...

I am responding to your ad on City Times dated 05/03/05 regarding the ' ' position. Enclosed is my resume showing my experience and education. State how long you've been at the current position. I am available for an interview at your convenience. Thanks for your time and consideration.
