I just realized that I forgot to put on the invites that we're having a formal wedding (ie. formal attire required). What should I do to make sure people know?

i would use word of mouth... IMO no one is going to come casually dressed anyway.... so i wouldnt worry too much

i agree, if you have any guests that you KNOW dont dress up for weddings then just make sure they get the word. Everyone else will most likely dress up. As long as you are not expecting black tie its fine. If i attend, afternoon or evening weddings, or saturday or sunday weddings, i am gonna dress up no matter what. THe only time i need to be told how to dress is if its black tie and the couple expect long dresses

hmm... i agree with everyone... don't worry too much or if you have a wedding website, you can put the information on there. You can even do it by word of mouth if someone asks about the details of your wedding, you can bring up that it's formal wear.
But unless if it's black-tie, I wouldn't worry too much. Hopefully most ppl will dress up. HTH.

Yeah I think people will know, unless you want black tie. I think people assume formal unless you put black tie or casual. I wouldnt worry at all!

i agree with this too...unless its black tie i would think that people should know its formall....

I agree with everyone else. Not that anyone would come dressed casually to a wedding but just in case you want to make sure it does not happen let people know by word of mouth.

We have reception cards, but we ordered them all at the same time.
I'm just worried about some of FH's family. I know that most people would know that it's formal, but my mom has worried me with comments of 'It's just a Sunday afternoon, you don't have to get too dressy' and FH's family is from upstate and I haven't even met everyone on his side who's invited. So I worry about how hickish they are (because some of them definitely are a little bit).
