Is anybody or did anybody use a cradle instead of a bassinet? What is the difference for the baby's sleep? Does anybody have pictures? I like cradles better I think....but they don't seem very common....

Re: cradle or bassinet?
LOVE craddles, but I got a bassinet instead. Here is why: a) I have a cat and was worried that if she went to 'look' inside the cradle it would tip over or begin to rock. b) they are very low and DH is 6'4' sos that is not very back-friendly c)the bassinet I want has a dim light which I have read is great for changing midnight diapers or checking on baby. It also has a vibrate button, and a music button.
But when it comes to photos I love cradles.

Re: cradle or bassinet?
There are very few cradles out there with wheels. thats a big factor if you plan to wheel the baby around the house during the day so you can get chores done. another thing is that cradles , although they are GORGEOUS, can take up more space. I wanted a cradle, but a bassinet was a better idea, space-wise. Happy shopping !

I didnt get either, I thought I'd put him in the crib right from the get go but I ended up borrowing my SIL's bassinet and I loved it. They like to feel enclosed like that early on too. The one I borrowed had wheels that you could pop up or down so when they were up, you could rock the bassinet and down, obviously it would roll. It was made by Kolcraft? I think... but the rocking feature was nice, I would lay in bed sometimes and just reach over and rock him to get him back to sleep after a 3 am feeding. (Ugh! I dont miss those!!)

Re: cradle or bassinet?
We are using my bassinet from when I was a baby. It's a beautiful white wicker one, and my mom's friend is making us a new skirt to go over it. That means SO much to me.
