Craft stores

Hi Michelle - I'm in FH too! I miss Creativity :o( Michael's is terrific, I go there a lot and they have so much. I definitely receommend it. There is a crafts store on the Horace Harding Expressway right at Marathon Parkway in Douglaston. They don't have as much as Michael's but they are pretty nice too and closer. There are others but not as close.

There is a Carvel on the corner or Horace Harding and Marathon. A few stores down (on Horace Harding) is the place - Fabric Bonanza. They do have a lot of stuff but if you haven't been to Michael's, it's worth a trip there as well.

And thanks, yes Andy is feeling better, but his trick to kicking the cold was to give it to me ... so now I sound like he did. (oh, the joys of couplehood :)

Re:pew bows/ebay

I just received some pew bows that I bid on on ebay (thanks Michelle B for the idea)...they are gorgeous. 12 for $20, made with tulle and wired ribbon. Probably not hard to make but I have been making a lot of the extras for the wedding so it was worth it. I also purchased 150' of tulle for $8.50 - you can get some nice stuff for the wedding on ebay. Just be sure the check their feedback profile to see that others that have done business with them before were satisfied.

But I guess I missed the obvious solution, which was to talk to my MOH before getting worried about it all!

There is also one on Crossbay Blvd in Howard Beach. I plan on going there soon.

I can vouch for the beautiful water atmosphere of John Anthony's on the Water (in Babylon), too!!! We're set for this fall there!!! Can't wait!!!

Re:pew bows/ebay/Elizabeth

Yes, it was '[email protected]' I saw that she had a few auctions going on at the time. They are really very nice. You won't be disappointed if you get some through the same woman.

Do you remember which vendor you bid on?
