Cramping Question

Cramping Question

I've had some mild cramping since last night. I've never experienced this before, and I'm kind of worried.
Is this a reason to call my doctor, or am I over reacting??
He said to call any time I have a question or concern, but it's a holiday...

Opinions please???

Re: Cramping Question

does it l;essen when you lie down or drink a glass of water?? if so, then it is braxton hicks.,,and nothing to worry about. If it continues for a while, I would call. It does NOT matter that it is a holiday!

Re: Cramping Question

It doesn't lessen when I lie down, but I just had a glass of OJ, and it seems to have stopped.

Thanks for the reassurance!

Jenn does it sort of feel like muscle pulls? I remember having muscle pull sorts of pains and they said it was totally normal.
Call if you feel it would reassure you !

Re: Cramping Question

Jenn are you drinking enough liquids? Dehydration can cause cramping also. It also can be your skin stretching to make room for baby If you are truly concerned call your Dr.
Try not to worry

absolutely you have to drink water and stay hydrated. I never did and was on the phone witht he doctors almost every other day - that must hve thought I was nuts!

Re: Cramping Question

I think you all may be on to something with the dehydration thing. I was dying of thirst when I got up this morning, and since I've been drinking, the cramping has stopped. If it starts again, I'm calling PRONTO.

You ladies have NO IDEA how good it feels to know you're here.
THANK YOU!!!!

Re: Cramping Question

With pregnancy you should always drink before you become thirsty, which is easier said than done I'm glad you are feeling better

Re: Cramping Question

It started again yesterday afternoon, but was even more mild and stopped quickly. Since then, I've been fine.
Thanks for asking.

Re: Cramping Question

Mild cramping like that IS very normal considering whats growing inside you but I know it can be a bit unnerving.
If you have it again I would def call the doc, at least just to put your mind at ease.

Re: Cramping Question

Jenn ... I had the SAME thing happen about a week ago & then again the other night. The dr said that its most likely your ligaments stretching as your uterus grows. He says that you will most likely feel it on & off now, but as long as you're not spotting its normal.

He also recommended drinking lots & lots of water & rest when it feels uncomfortable. I was very worried too! Hope you're feeling better today!

Re: Cramping Question

I get almost period like cramps sometimes, less now than in the beginning. The midwife said they are just the uterus stretching out to make room for a baby. But if you are really considered go to the doctor, if just for peace of mind.
how are you feeling?

Re: Cramping Question

I felt fine all day today. Thanks for caring.
I am going to the dr. on Thursday. That's the only thing that kept me from demanding an emergency appointment today. I was THAT nervous!

I'm just SO glad to know it's normal. I figured it MIGHT be stretching ligaments, since that's what I read in all of my books, but I was too worried to assume.

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!
