Cramps

I got cramps
I get them so bad, I think I get the worst periods in the world. Nothing over the counter seems to help..I cry over the smallest things and the pain is so severe. My doctors has told me nothing is wrong with me but is it normal for it to be this bad. Can anyone recommend anything? Any good pain killers?? Ladies I need your advice I had to plan my wedding around my cycle because I get so sick.

Re: Cramps

I get bad cramps too! It has been so bad that I would vomit I have tried everything. What has helped me lately was Midol 12 hour, take 2. Ginger tea is a good natural remedy, but I'm usually in too much pain to bother making the tea (that's what FHs are for ) Also, getting on the pill helped me, but I had to get off the pill after only being on it a few months. I hope you feel better soon!

Re: Cramps

No BC. But the alleve I feel makes me bleed heavy. I heard when you have a child it goes away. Oh well got to work on that one after the wedding. As for Soda I try not to drink any during my cycle and not to much salt either depending on what I eat.

Re: Cramps

I get really bad cramps, and I usually take some alieves and a shot of BRANDY......it doesnt always help 100% but sometimes it does make them alittle more to deal with.

For that statement you should give your FH the job of going to buy your pads/tampons and midol every month for the next 5 years!

Re: Cramps

i usually try to start my day with a cup of chamomile tea. that usually helps. also i find that physical exircise (as weird as it sounds) works the best. take a nice walk and it seems to work the cramps out or somehting.

Re: Cramps

When I was younger, I used to get the kind of cramps you describe. I remember rocking back and forth in bed, in an indian style position. Terrible. I used to take Midol, what a difference. It's your Uterus contracting. So imagine what labor pains feels like The Midol relaxes your Uterus, and basicly eases the pain. Hope it works for you! Good Luck

Re: Cramps

ewwwwwwwwwwww I know you're pain I have had terrible cramps since I first got AF. It usually puts me out of work a day. I've tried everything, BC, midol.........everything!!

I was told by my fsil(a pharmacist) to ask the doctor for a prescription dosage of naproxen sodium. So I take one of those....and put a heating pad on my tummy. (the heat relaxes the contracting muscles)

I find that the cramps that usually knock me out for 6 hours...are done in 30 min!

Hope that helps

Re: Cramps

I know how you feel...I used to be like that but now I am on BC...But that will be changing...have to go off of it...

one of my friends gets it real bad like that - she sometimes has to call into work because she cant even function (and she never calls in sick) but she swears by Aleve...
(Aleve is too strong for me I get an upset tummy)
