I want to do it but I am nervous no one will know what it is.
Let me know your thoughts.

Re: Crashing- Honeymoon advice
i used HoneymoonWishes ...
they do charge, but you have a choice whether the person giving the gift gets charged, or if you get charged.
I got about $500 worth of gifts through it (though i've heard others who had much better luck)
i would not register there (or any other HM registry) if i had to do it again though... it seemed like a waste of my guests' money since they'd give more than i would get (because of the fees). Also, when my guests would ask 'how was so-and-so that i bought from your HM registry?', i felt really guilty lying to them that i loved it (because i didn't necessarily spend the money on the 'gifts' they paid for)

Re: Crashing- Honeymoon advice
We did honeyfund and got about $1100 in gifts. i loved it because they do not charge. The people have a choice to print out a certificiate and give you cash or a check, or pay you directly via paypal and then it's just the PayPal fee that gets taken out. Many other services charge 7.5% which is insane.

Re: Crashing- Honeymoon advice
I considered that one above- but in the end went with Upon Our Star (www.uponourstar.com)- mainly because I wanted to use it for all kinds of things, not just our honeymoon. I did use it for both- so far it has worked well. I have only had my shower invites go out, but a few gifts were bought for people we know aren't coming- they said it was pretty easy!

We used Travelers Joy
They charge 7%, but I felt more secure with the amount being held in a real bank account
