Crate And Barrel
Hi All! I was wondering if anyone has registered there? I heard they discontinue their products quite often. Can you please share your experinces with them.

I'm registered there. I have found often that when I go to update/add items to my registry on line, a lot of the items we have on our list are on backorder. Since we registed last summer, most of the seasonal items appear as 'no longer available', as was the case for at least 2 items we put on the registry (a Mexican cookbook and soup ladles). But I often find this is the case with seasonal, trendy items, and not things like plates and cups and silverware.

I wouldn't suggest registering at a place like this (Pottery Barn, Pier One, etc. ) for your dishes because they do change those often and if you ever need to replace a piece you'll probably be out of luck. I would go with name brand dishes/flatwear.

I''m registered there for everyday knicknack sort of stuff. So far I haven''t had a problem. And like the other ladies are saying they only discontinue the seasonal items. They explained that to us when we registered. But I agree with Stef28, pick dishes from a company that you can rely on for re-ordering. Good Luck

agree with the dishes
at first I registered for casual plates at bed bath and beyond...and they were discontinued (I have one box), so I registered instead at fortunoffs (where my formal are from) with a name...

I registered for my everyday dishes and my china there (as well as a bunch of other stuff). I didn't consider the replacement problem. That's a good point, but those items aren't the ones they discontinue as much as the seasonal stuff. Their selection suited our tastes more than the typical department store china and dishes. I have run into the issue where things on my registry are backordered but you can get around that by ordering directly from a store rather than from the online central ordering. The stores have their own stock and are happy to ship anywhere.
