I just checked online and it seems the only one on LI is in manhasset. Is the correct? I am worried that if there is only that one...my guests will not get stuff off that registry due to the inconvience. Do you think I should open one at a different store? What have your experiences been?

Re: crate and barrel question
There are also a few in the city, but that is the only one in NY. I also registered at Macy's for things so if people were far away they could buy stuff there. But I did get a lot of stuff from Crate and Barrel too. Some people ordered off the internet.

Re: crate and barrel question
They can pull up your registry on-line, purchase, and send all from the comfort of their own homes. Plus shipping and handling of course :)

LOVE THEM LOVE THEM LOVE THEM!!
I had the ultimate best experience registering with them. The sales people were so nice, they knew their stuff, didnt bother us, and if we had a question they jumped for us. They were so wonderful.
Your guests can also go on line to buy stuff for you. The only thing I dont like is if you have out of state guests and they go on line to your registy they may not be able to buy certain things because its not available on line.

Re: crate and barrel question
I registered at C&B and Fortunoff and I have guests in NY/NJ/MA/CA/NC, etc. Mostly everyone orders from the internet these days since the website had photos of the items you registered anyway and it saves people time from waiting in lines at the stores.

Re: crate and barrel question
Yes that is correct... same goes for Fortunoff, that's why people who register at those two places tend to also register at Bed Bath & Beyond or Macy's, some place that may be easier for some people.

Re: crate and barrel question
I had my china and everyday dishes at C&B - as well as a bunch of other stuff. It all got bought! A lot of people ordered online, you can also call a store and have things shipped. Got a lot of gift certificates from there too!
I was also registered at Williams-Sonoma and Macys, but most of items came from C&B.

Re: crate and barrel question
I am from MD...I have 2 crate and barrel's right near me(I'm obsessed). I thought for some reason there was one in roosevelt field. Anyway I am also registered at Bloomingdale's and Bed Bath and Beyond. But crate and barrel had more fun and inexpensive things. (Stuff I really want) So far a have gotten a few things off it.

Re: crate and barrel question
I thought I wasnt going to have a lot on my C&B registry and I have 110 items on it. I love it. I think a lot of people are going to buy from C&B.
I have the fine china and some crystal on the my fortunoffs registry.
I also have some things on Fortunoff that C&B didnt have.
I think C&B is definatly a great store. I love that place

Re: crate and barrel question
We registered at C&B. Computer savy people ordered gifts online. People who don't use the internet didn't get us a gift from there so we didn't get as many off our C&B registry as I wanted - that's where I really wanted my gifts to come from anyway!!
