Re: Crazy Moms?
Absolutely. She has something to say about EVERYTHING. And depending on what her menopausal mood is like, it could be a great piece of advice or a total bashing and destruction of my ideas. I just go with it. LOL

My mom was like that last year, it's sweet but I know sometimes it was aggravating. Just remember, she's been waiting for this day as long as you have!!

i know we'll be okay as long as we stick together, it just makes everything so much more stressful. even registering...she wanted to come! we were like, we can handle shopping - that's the fun part!

Re: Crazy Moms?
I have to say my mom has been really good. Sure, she thinks some of my ideas aren't 100 percent necessary (DOC for one) but she's been pretty supportive of everything. FMIL, too. I do wonder if they were involved financially would it be this easy.

Re: Crazy Moms?
my mom drives me nutz (as all moms do). When i got engaged she went out the next day and ordered my china and my glasses, which was so great of her. Then we fight because i want black BM dresses and she keeps saying 'no way' and that I like a particular wedding gown and she says 'its too shiny!' All she does now is call her friends and talk about my wedding, I dont even do that!!! i think she relives her youth through my wedding!! lol

Re: Crazy Moms?
Actually my mom is the exact opposite, I would love for her to be more involved, but in her defense, we have different tastes about everything!! So I think she would rather say nothing than I don't like it!

Re: Crazy Moms?
My mother and I had a HUGE fight last week over the smallest detail. She said something and I just lost it- I was just so tired of her being against everything I have to say about the wedding. In the end, it was a huge misunderstanding- she thought I was asking her to pay for something, when all I wanted to do was share it with her. It can be really frustrating though.

{{frantically waves hand in the air}} ME!
My mom is great. I'm incredibly lucky tohave her. But when FH and I first got engaged, she was thoroughly annoyed that I was actually booking thigs like my RH and band w/o her input. Um, hello, who's getting married here???
Thankfully, she's mellowed. A little.
Vent over.

okay this is hilarious!!
my mom has been so so for the most part.. only thing is she won't give me a number for the amount of people she wnats to invite.. she just keeps referring to the state that that portion of the family live in.. like.. i'm inviting pennsylvania.. and virgina.. and north carolina.. i'm like ma.. those are STATES.. i need names of PEOPLE..
then i asked her how far in advance should i mail invites for rsvps (i got loadsof time 09 bride- but just trying to check my ettiquette and what not) she tells me don't bother.. my famiy won't return an rsvp.. so no need for invites.. she'll just call Pennsvlyania and find out whose coming.. i keep reminding ehr this is my wedding.. not a bar be que..

Re: Crazy Moms?
My mom has been weird. She hasn't really butted in, but has been all pouty about not being more involved. She lives in VA, so FH and I have done most of the planning ourselves, but have tried to include her as much as possible, and invited her along to vendor appts and stuff when she came to visit. I think she's upset that I'm not getting married in the town where I grew up and feels left out.
I'm hoping as the wedding gets closer that she'll be relaxed about everything. When I talked to her on Mother's Day, she actually said something pretty funny:
Mom: One of my friends asked me what I was doing to help with the wedding. I told her I gave birth to the bride and she's been on her own ever since!
So I think she's more okay with it now.

Re: Crazy Moms?
I must say my mom is the best, she is very laid back and supportive, never have a problem with her so far (well except the guest list). However, my future mother in law is a different story, she drive me crazy and i'm just trying to zip my mouth. She irritate me from a minute I see. I don't mind suggestion but she is just very pushy. She would call me 9 times at work just to remind me to register for the wedding because I have to get that f@#$ing china...I'm thinking 'woman live me shut up and leave me along...UGH

Re: Crazy Moms?
I just got engaged and just started to plan the wedding... And I am getting six e-mails a day from my mom and four phone calls asking me questions... I love her... But I am slightly going insane. BUT what other peoples have said is true. She's been waiting a long time to see me get married!
