I asked a bus company for a quote to take approx 50 people from the hotel to the rehearsal dinner, which is about 4 miles away, and then back....so two trips. I was quoted at $600 for ONE bus. That seems insane. Is that normal?

I definately think that is normal. Shuttle can range anywhere fro $500-$1000 depending on the size and the number of trips.
Seems insane, I know, but the minute you tack wedding onto anything, the price goes up!

I don't think that price is insane, but I would shop around a little more and see what else you're being offered.

That quote sounds a bit high- I am paying $1175 for the entire day of my wedding from 1:30pm to midnight.

check with the hotel FIRST to see if they offer a shuttle service. Most places I have seen do already. (even to/from the airport).
