So, I've been seriously thinking about this. So I got married in 2005 and since then I've shed some weight..feeling really good about myself and I'm always pissed that I wasn't this weight on my wedding date. I recently see that it's become popular to take pics on the day after the wedding...more relaxed can really concentrate on those must take pics..and they look awesome. Those angelica glass pics are beautiful. So do you think it would be crazy to put on my wedding gown again..get my hair done and go take some additional romantic pics? My husband says..sure..no biggie for him...he'll just go get his tux again...whatever I want basically. What do you girls think. I'm kind of think it would be cool to wear my wedding gown again...not to mention I haven't spent the $500 bucks yet to get the thing clean and perserved.

I think you shouldn't give a damn what other people think. I personally love the idea of day-after pics for the reasons you stated, but unfortunately we can't afford them.
Basically, if you and DH want them, then go for it!!!

hey if you dont mind spending the money, and want to wear the dress again- go for it!!! Maybe turn it into an anniversary type of thing and renew your vows while you are at it!

first just want to say the pics aren't actually the day after, usually a few weeks or months or even longer. I think you should DEFINITELY do it, if its something you want go for it. E-mail Angelica glass and see when she has available

I'm so motivated about this..especially because my husband didn't think I was nuts. I'll have to do some quick research on Angelica Glass..pricing and what not. I'll also chat with Willi Wong who did our engagement pics...he was also great to work with and his pics are gorgeous.
I just thought about something that my be expensive...altering my wedding gown...hummmm. I got my gown from Kleinfeld's...and I'm sure they'll charge a ton.
I'll have to narrow down a date for this to get the ball rolling. Thanks for the words of encouragement.

I guess Im in the minority here.. if you are really asking for honest opinions, I think its silly.
Why not spend the money for nice professional pics of you two in 'normal' clothes? or some sexy boudoir pics?
Wedding pictures are to capture how you looked and felt on your wedding day... all of the people that were there that loved you, all of the emotions..
Taking pictures now are just you in a white dress and DH in a tux
I think there are much better ways to celebrate your successful weightloss....

Go for it! My sister is planning on doing this too, She was married 2 years ago and is getting gastric bypass surgery soon so she will take wedding pics after she loses her weight. They they didn't have $ for professional pics at the time they got married and they don't like they way the look in the non-pros.
Hey- at lease you get to wear your dress again...lol

I agree. Although you may not have been at your goal weight on your wedding day, theres just no way to re-create the real day. You will end up looking back on these new pics down the road thinking 'well these are the pics of me and DH years after we actually got married' It seems silly to me. Mel is right -- the wedding was about you, DH, and all the people who love and care about you. The emotions you felt that day were captured through those pictures and I have a hard time believing you'll be able to have the same effect in new pictures. I think you should cherish the pics you have.
