Creative Compositions, JoVon, Mark Kauffman Photography

Hi all! I'm in the process of booking my photographer... So far, I've only met with JoVon and thought their work was really great (although definitely expensive). We have an appointment with Creative Compositions on Saturday and I will probably make an appointment at Mark Kauffman as well. Can anyone give me some feedback on these photographers? And if you met with all of them, why did you choose one over the other? Also, if you can FM me about prices, I'd really appreciate it. I just wanted to compare the quote I got to other people's quotes. I know some of these are on the more expensive side, but for photography, I dont want to skimp...

We looked at Mark Kauffman. The work was great, but we didn't like that the packages he offers do not include albums. We didn't love his personality, either. Sometimes you just 'click' with certain vendors, and we didn't click with him. We did not look at any of the others on your list. Good luck!

I have 3 recommendations.. My first choice was Verdi, they are absolutely amazing, my friend used them, and I fell in love with her pics, but I can't afford them.. verdi

#2: Is Mark Kauffman, amazing as well, can't afford them..

and #3: TWELFTH NIGHT PHOTOGRAPHY.. awesome.. dominick is so nice.. and I'm going with them.. Check them out as well..

I think Verdi is $4,000 BUT THEY ARE AMZING!!!!!

I recently booked with Creative Compositions - they were the first vendor that we saw and we absolutely fell in love with their work. We only saw one other photographer, Verdi, and although their work is pretty we really clicked much better with Creative Comp.

The first time we went to Creative we were there for almost 2 hours - we sat down with the photographer that we would be using and we talked about everything. We saw so much of their work and they gave us so many suggestions about taking pictures, about the where and when - and we hadnt even booked yet!

The pictures are so breathtaking! They are on the pricier side but they are SO worth the money -

When we finally booked we went in to sign the contract - and again sat with the photographer and talked and looked at more pictures -

It was great! I am so confident that my pictures will look beautiful because the photographer loved what he did and it definitely showed. A few girls on here have used them and absolutely loved the work also.

i absolutely agree...creative compositions is unbelievable!!! very expensive but worth every penny!!! i looked at a LOT of photographers (6, i think!) and i liked a few others, but was blown away by the quality of creative comp, as well as the personalities of the people that work there. they are doing our video as well.

I am using MK - I actually switched photographers to use him. I looked at Jovon and A LOT of others and thought that their work was the best. I hear a lot of people don't click with him but honestly most people don't even use him as their photographer so I can't see how that is much of an issue. All of his packages can be worked to include whatever you need. Mine came with my album and parents albums and the other things I wanted - but to say that they don't come with albums at all is not true - I think ony his cheapest package doesn't come with an album.

I was an art history major and took a couple of photo classes to fullful my requirements for part of studio - and so I was VERY picky about photography and what I wanted - I thought his studio had the most talented of the photographers on the island.

Jovon was nice but I know a few people who had some issues. They weren't much cheaper and were giving me much fewer photos and fewer photographers.

I personally thought that JoVon's photography was too traditional for what I was looking for.

I met with a few photographers including Verdi, Imagine, and Sherwood Triart, however when I went to Creative Compositions, I was completely blown away. I was also there for over 2 hours the first time I went to see them and my FH and I really clicked with them. I had a similiar experience to Atticaqt's (looking through different albums, etc.) They are very expensive, but IMO worth every penny! I get so many compliments on my engagement photos and I can't wait to see my wedding proofs. If you do a search under my name, you will find my engagement photos with Creative.

I looked at Creative Comp and Jovon among others and wound up booking Jovon.

We liked Creative Comp but just didn't click with the person we met there but their work was beautiful.

We really loved the work we saw at Jovon. I have over 1300 proofs between 2 photographers and while yes, their prices are high, they are not as high as some that I've been or comparable to others. I have to be honest and say my photos are not perfect- they did miss some things. Their customer service after the wedding is not the best either however, I am more than happy with my pictures and that overrides anything. Feel free to FM me with any questions regarding specific photographers and prices.

MK sent us info and his work looked beautiful but his prices were even more than Jovon and CC.

Hey..something I can answer!

We used MKs studio (lynn and jodi were our photographers) and I highly recommend them. MK has a somewhat untraditional approach compared to the other photographers we considered but I really liked the structure. I have my photos posted all over this site

I am using JoVon. So far I have been pleased with them - our engagement photos came out awesome! We're using Ralph. However, they are very expensive. We decided to use them because I loved their photography and FH and his family have used them in the past. I like a mix of traditional and photojournalistic photography, and felt like I was getting that there.

we looked at mark kaufmann as well. although the photographers are extremly talented, we were not that impressed w/ the 'pushy' sales approach.

we only looked at one other photographer and booked on the spot.

I booked CC because their work is unbelievable and they are extremely nice people. To me, customer service is incredibly important.

I have heard a lot of mixed reviews about Jovon. Personally, I do not like their work. Their customer service is also supposed to be terrible. My aunt also had pics of her children done by Jovon himself, and she hated all of them.

I used Jovon. I had Telmo and Vittorio. They were amazing! I absolutely love my pictures! They are creative, clear, and they caught it all! I booked in May 2002 with Midge who is no longer there. She was very nice. Now I deal with Roseanne who is not very nice.

My thank you's were amazing, also - I got so many compliments on them.

I just wish their service was still good!
