One of my BM's is having her gallbladder removed today (laproscope - sp?) so she will be home later tonight. I wanted to get her something creative and fun to keep her spirits up for the next week while she is recovering. She does not want any books or mags since she has a paper due for school next week and needs to work on that. Any ideas? Thanks.

Re: Creative Gift Idea Needed
My friend about a month ago had the same thing and I sent her this Each happy face is a cookie.
It's a flower arrangement made entirely out of fruit - I sent one last week to my aunt who had surgery and she was floored. She loved it!

This place is located right near where I live in Maine!!! Their products are FABULOUS!! That's too funny that they were on Oprah! I thought they were just a local 'mom n pop' business!!

They only have the whoopie pies on their website, what else do they have? They are good? My dad had eye surgery today so I am sending them to him next week, and the woman who helped up so much w/ our refinancing--I am sending them to her as well. Glad to hear they are Good! Thanks for the feedback!

Re: Creative Gift Idea Needed
I've only had the whoopie pies...I know I've seen some other products with their label....like cookies, and other cake-type desserts.
The only thing is, as I saw on their website, that even though the whoopie pies are $20, shipping is an additional $18!!!

Thanks so much for the ideas. I love them! I was under the impression that she would not be able to eat cookies, candy, etc for a while. Is this not correct?

This is really cute...and contains no food! I swear by Burt's bee's products and who wouldn't want to pamper themselves after surgery?? Basket

Re: Creative Gift Idea Needed
sending food to a gallbaldder removal patient isn't a hot idea...they can't or don't want to eat at least for several days....and even for a few weeks after, their systems are very sensitive to food....they need to eat light. I had it done in 2001.

My friend would eat them all in one sitting even if she wasn't allowed to. Who wouldn't?
