Did anyone do anything different/creative to ask their bm's? I want to do something special but need ideas. Did you give them anything when you asked?(I've heard about giving them a poem about your friendship)
I'm going to do something special at my engagment party to ask each of them. I'm not quite sure of what that is yet but thats what I'm planning. If I think of something I'll let you know.

Re: Creative ways to ask your bm's?
Oh yeah...I was so creative!!! When I saw my 2 cousins at Christmas after I got engaged, we were having coffee and BS'n and I said...'oh...you two are bridesmaids...you know that right?' They were like...'okay...we know now'...

Re: Creative ways to ask your bm's?
I haven't really come up with anything final but....over the weekend I was at the Rag Shop and I saw these small little porcelian (sp?) heart jewelry cases. I bought them and also bought some mini letter stickers and a paint marker. I am going to put their names on each one and decorate them. Inside them I am thinking of putting little notes that say...'Be my bridesmaid?' I am not sure how to hand them out to them. But I might just place them next to them nonchalantly during the e-party. With a Post-It note saying...Open me now!! Something like that! I am still working on it. Anymore ideas? Do you think it will work?

Re: Creative ways to ask your bm's?
I found these cute little ornaments that were white bears in wedding dresses. With my P-touch, I made little banners that read 'Will you be my maid of honor/bridesmaid?'. I wrapped them up and just shortly after announcing our engagement (on Christmas) I gave it to them as another present. I figured they could hang it every year for Christmas. They all loved it!!!!

Re: Creative ways to ask your bm's?
My fiance and I asked each member of our wedding party together - most of them on newyears through a toast. 'here's to the newest additions to our bridal party...if you guys will accept' Surprised them, it was fun.
It worked well for us because we have 2 couples in our wedding party.

I made them cards that I found at Michael's, in the section called The Card Connection. They have cards that say 'Will you be my bridesmaid?' It was very easy to do (and I'm NOT a crafty person whatsoever!)
Then I included the following poem in the card..
Its hard to believe that in a little while, Anthony and I will be walking down the aisle, Nothing would bring me more joy or pride then to have you there by my side
Will you be my bridesmaid?
They all loved it

Re: Creative ways to ask your bm's?
I made each of the girls small scrapbooks with pictures of us through the years. On the last page I put pictures of a bride/groom/bridal party etc.. and wrote 'will you be my bridesmaid/maid of honor?' I haven't given it to them yet but i can't wait!!!!

I made each a card to ask them. I left them at their seats at the engagement party so that they would find and read them

I really like the idea of asking them at the E-Party but I don't think I can wait until then. We still have 3 months to go!!!

That's so great, thank you for posting that - I've been looking for them everywhere!!! The only place I found them was onlne and it's a little ridiculous to pay $6 shipping on a $2 item. Yay - thanks!!!!!

I just want to say that I am new to this site and think it's great that you're all willing to give great ideas. I'm confused with what's going on with 'drama', but I guess I have to let you know that I may be 'stealing' one of your ideas. Hope that's ok. Just read the stealing post?!

Re: Creative ways to ask your bm's?
Hiya :)
We kinda had an unofficial (very ironic!) theme when we got engaged... We were away and in the gift shop they had Angel Cheeks statues which I had recently started liking. They had the Xmas ones on sale so I bought three... Later that night when my fiance proposed, he had bought one (see my avator) with a little engagement ring, and put my ring on its lap. When we told my parents, my mom had bought the bride and groom and saved them for when we got engaged... Since there were so many of the Angel Cheeks involved in our engagement, it became our unofficial theme...
Anyway, for our engagement party, we made up little bags for the bridal party, with a sticker on it that said 'We'd like you to be part of our wedding'. The girls got Bridesmaid Angel Cheek statues (they have a whole wedding set) and we ordered 'Groomsmen' and 'Best Man' keychains off of the Knot store for the guys. They all really liked them and it was cute! ALso for the ring bearer I found a bear holding a heart pillow (it was around Valentines) so I just bought fake rings and stitched them onto the pillow...
