Hey ladies, for the first time ever, I get a call from my credit card's fraud dept. w/ suspicious charges. I went to macy's in Roosevelt field last night to do some christmas shopping. Now today, when I called , they tole me the Macys in Elmhurst queens has my card charged for $1000 and HSN shopping network for $50. I think someone pulled a fast one.
My acct. is now on hold until they resolve it.
Keep your credit cards in safe place, and watch what the cashiers do with them when you make purchases. There are a lot of dishonest people out there.
Has this every happend to anyone else???

Re: Credit card fraud-beware
I used to work at a bank and some of the things i heard about how people got account numbers and debit card numbers and what people did with them was sooo scary. Its so sad that things like this happen. Most of the time these people are so stupid that they get caught.
Someone broke into my car and stole my bag and tried to use my debit card at an ATM. I guess they were gonna try and guess my pin?? Anyway the Bank is safeguarded that if you use your pin more than three times, it freezes your account. Needless to say, my account was frozen since they couldnt figure out my pin number. And um ATM's have cameras too so the idiot's faces were on tape!!!!
Most banks and credit card companies are so good with helping you out with this bc honestly it happens so often now.
Good Luck!

Same thing with DH's card...someone charge $750 on his card in Maryland...mind you he hasn't been there for almost 15 years. We didn't know about this until Citiback called him wondering why he spent $750 in Maryland and $25 in NYC at the same time.

Re: Credit card fraud-beware
I am so sorry to hear this happened to you. Around this time of year i try to debit money from my account from the bank only (watch out at places like 7-11) and just pay cash. It avoids as many frauds but unfortunately, people can get your numbers from the scariest places

Re: Credit card fraud-beware
I applied for a store cc but never received it. When I called to find out about its whereabouts I was told that it had been returned to the cc company. NOT!!! About a month or so later I received a bill for $3500!! And to make matters worse all of the sales people from said store were sending me thank you cards ( a nice gesture but it wasnt me) and inviting me to all of these private in store events!
