credit card rewards...
my boss just got off the phone...she was not happy...then she came to tell me that when our customers cash in their rewards, we have to pay for it...so when you cash in those rewards, just think, target, macy's, cvs...they are all paying for it. we just got slapped with a $600 bill b/c a customer of ours (who used their rewards card) cashed in for rewards! wow.

Re: credit card rewards...
what do you mean by rewards- points?like if I take 10K Amex points and get a $100 Gift card- to saks- saks pays for it?
I would have thought Amex did- but I wouldn't think twice about using them regardless of whose paying as long as it's not me!

Re: credit card rewards...
That's strange, then why would any store participate in these rewards? I would think the CC company should pay.......

Re: credit card rewards...
the companies/stores have no choice somehow. but somehow basically if i use my amex card at saks, tiffany's and target......and i cash in my rewards for anything....travel, gifts, gift cards.....saks, tiffany's and target all pay for it. the CC company does not pay for it.i mean, i'm not about to let that stop me...but i thought it was strange...and we have no choice, we have to pay it or we become delinquent!

Right! I'm really not going to care that a store is charged for rewards I earned!

Re: credit card rewards...
but the store would have to agree to let them use there name and logo- so the store must have agreed to thisand these are all big stores- not local mom and pops- so what's the big deal
when I use one of the rewards cards I almost always spend more then I have- so the store benefits too

Re: credit card rewards...
If that marekting gets you into the store, the store has a better chance of you buying more than the rewards card. Once they get you in the store the possibilities are endless for the most part from a revenue standpoint.Believe me, the big stores are not losing money on this.
