I think you are receiving a false sense of security. If the camera breaks what recourse would the credit card company have? By that time the vendor has already been paid. Credit card companies are not in the business of settling disputes between a vendor and the vendors customer. They are in the business of offering you the opportunity of not having to pay by cash (for what ever reason). A credit card is not going to protect you in this case, so don't get hung up on this.

Pay by check if credit cards are not accepted...to at least have proof of payment (the cancelled check). God forbid you have a problem and have to take legal action with a vendor in the future...if they're slimey enought to have to take to court, then consider the way cash can get 'lost'.

Nicole M,

We are in the process of planning our Sept. 2001 wedding and have signed with several vendors who do not take credit cards, most notably the caterer and the dj. In the beginning I was a little upset about it, but after thinking about it, we'll have less interest piling up on the cards, and bottom line is the deposits are PAID for real. We don't need to see the bill coming in each month for months to come! That's definitely one positive way to look at it. :)

That's exactly how I feel; we've been dating for 8 1/2 years. By the night of the wedding, it will be almost 10 years. I don't think I'm going to want the day to end!!

Here are our stats...

John Anthony's (Sept. 2001, upstairs room - I forget the name...all the vendors just refer to it as upstairs anyway) ... www.johnanthonys.com

I'm excited as well about the photographer. They were very professional and accommodating. Their work is awesome!! After checking out some places on the internet, and narrowing the search down to basically just M. O'Neill, we knew after sitting with them that we wanted them. Not only is their product amazing, but they were personally amazing themselves in discussing their work with us. They were so patient going over the details and really took their time.

Lucky for us, John Anthony's just recently signed them on as house photographers!! Talk about an added bonus, that came as a pleasant surprise!

We have also decided to go with them for the video as well. The price seemed right, and the abbreviated video they showed us seemed like what we wanted. We also had some special requests that they seem very willing to work with us on.

Thanks! I hope so!

What about your plans? What have you set so far?

deSversky is gorgeous. i've left 2 messages for them - also seeing if i could afford them. does the $165 (soon to increase as you say) inc everything? (cake, place, bridal suite for evening? or just the day and food?)

Do you have a reception place yet?

My sister also had a bad experience. They ordered her dress too small , and one of the bridemaids dresses they ordered 4 sizes too big. But in the end they made everything whole . The seamstress did a great job . I also ordered my bridesmaid dresses there , they are in but I go to see them tomorrow. Wish me luck !
I hope someone out there has some suggestions!!!
